My dad, firstly- he's always been into computers, as far as I can remember. Then in 5th grade, I was part of an after school program and I'd always hang out with my computer teacher [how nerdy is that?]. I even assembled my first computer with her! Ever since, I've had a love for them. Even though I'm not really savvy with the newest hardware, I love putting them together.

The fact that it’s not easy enough for me to win all the time.
In all seriousness, imbalanced pig [Bristleback] scares the crap out of me whenever I’m in a game or scrim against him. I don’t really see it as an imbalance though, more of a situation I don’t know how to control or handle.
Questions to Korini
How do your folks react to them if you say "Hey Am a Progamer!"
Initially my parents didn’t think too much of it since it wasn’t too organized when I first joined. Now though, they’re really supportive, as long as it doesn’t interfere with my school work. They always ask me how the team’s been doing, and they even tell my relatives about it! All they want is for me to be happy, and if it’s professionally playing games, they’re all for it. My mom even joked about me being on G4 [what used to be TechTV] one day.
Team Questions
What is the best part about playing with your team?
We all get along great, and we’re really supportive of each other. Miss-Rinoa [Neha] keeps us in line when we need it, and I think that’s really important. Being all supportive and positive sure helps, but when it comes down to it I think we need to be blunt sometimes in order to improve. Like before I joined the team, my friends would always get really sarcastic about auto-attacking creeps, and if I didn’t last hit they basically would kick me out of their lane. That made me learn really, really fast.
Have you'll met in real life once? What did you'll do?
Yes! Oh gosh, yes. Most of our team has met, except Miss-Tifa [Daniela] since she’s currently the only one that is international. The rest of us [Miss-Rinoa, Sunie, Aeris, Ashe, Selphie, and myself] met in our first LAN event, Fire in Ice in Chicago. Most of the time Miss-Ashe and Miss-Selphie were with their other friends, but the rest of us spent a lot of time together hanging out and just having fun. It was definitely a positive experience for our team.
Ever since, I've had a love for them. Even though I'm not really savvy with the newest hardware, I love putting them together.
Do you think you're on your way to becoming a progamer? What has been the situation till now?
Slowly, but surely I certainly hope. Before this, I've been gaming just for fun. The thought of being "pro" never entered my mind until I joined the team really, I didn't think I'd even be good enough to be considered; I'm glad Miss-Rinoa found me though! I think with enough practice, our team can definitely be a force to be reckoned with at events or in tournaments.
LAN Gaming
What according to you has been the most funny situation in a LAN event?
That reminds me of the Fire In Ice LAN that we recently attended, I miss everyone that we met there! The most funny was probably when a handful of the LAN attendees were playing Rock band in the office. One of our friends, Sweets, is totally a rock star in the making and has the best vocals for singing Maps by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. One of the LAN staff, Ruben, comes in a close second.
What is your impression of Asian players? Their manners and skill?
They are so impressive, it makes me sad that I don’t have their skill! . Most of the time, they’re so incredibly well mannered too. I met Moon and Sweet at the very first event I attended as a part of PMS, and I’m sure they get crazed fan girls swarming them all the time, but they were really nice about autographs and pictures. I actually had to act out what I wanted to ask since there’s a language barrier, it was pretty silly but very cute.
Chilling with the pros!
Real Life
In real life whom would you consider to be your role model and why?
I don’t have a definite role model, it’s kind of a mix of everyone I know. I aspire to have some of my friends skills in gaming, while others I just wish I could be as cool as them. ;D My boyfriend, H2O Rip, has so many accomplishments and things like that it kind of makes me wish I didn’t goof off so much during college… But I love my life, I have no regrets. I’ll reach all my goals with all my friends’ help, how long it’ll take me only time will tell.
What are your hobbies?
Gaming, of course! If it’s not DotA, I’m on my 360 being terrible on Halo3, or rocking out on Guitar Hero or Rock band. Otherwise, I’m probably glued to my monitor chatting away and surfing the internet. When school starts back up again, you’ll probably find me behind a biology book. I’m not a nerd, I swear.

What is the most effective weapon for a str/agi/intel hero you have used?
Shiva’s Guard on Zeus. I don’t know how many times that Area of Effect slow effect has saved me, especially since zeus has a smaller attack range than a “regular†ranged hero. Sometimes you just get caught in that situation… And I’m thankful I bought that item.
Most of the time though, I play strength heroes like Beastmaster or Sven, on rare occasion Sand King – when I play the latter, I absolutely love Blink Dagger and/or Black King Bar. They do wonders!

How over-rated is standard Warcraft 3, in your opinion?
I don’t think it’s THAT overrated… I love playing ladder games. Watching Moon and Sweet and even H2O Technoboy play at my first event with PMS was amazing. I even participated in the GGL tournament they held and placed for qualifying!.. And then I lost gracefully to WinNerS. Honestly, I never even knew that playing standard Warcraft 3 was that big. Then watching the pros play I was like… WOW their micro is amazing. Makes my recreational ladder playing look really really amateur.

Conclusion
Would you travel to another country to take a shot at pro-gaming if offered?
Absolutely. I’ve never been outside of the USA, or been off the east coast until this recent LAN event, so it would be an awesome opportunity for me. Of course, I’d have to build myself up to get to have that offered, but I definitely hope someday it’ll happen.
Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
Done with school, working full time, and definitely gaming. Whether it be professionally or recreationally, it’ll always be in my life somehow. I think it’d just be neat to have a random person come up to me and say, “Oh gosh, you’re Miss-Korini on PMS^Miss!†I guess I want a little bit of that limelight, just to know what it’s like. Then I can go back to being another face in the crowd. Of course, real life comes first, so if I have to go on a temporary hiatus I don’t mind... as long as I make a return.

Introduction
What made you interested in computers?
My dad works with computers all the time so I've had one since I was born.
Do you think you're on your way to becoming a progamer? What has been the situation till now?
I think I'm far from being a pro but getting sponsored by PMS was amazing and it's definitely helping me get there.
LAN Gaming
What according to you has been the most funny situation in a LAN event?
There was this guy at a LAN that got on his computer, logged onto MSN and asked me out. I was 3 computers away and he asked me out via MSN. He even said he'd give me a keyboard if I said yes.
What is your impression of Asian/European players? Their manners and skill?
People in Europe and Asia are far more well mannered than north and South American teams. European players are also the best DotA players right now. I don't know about Asia though, I think they don't participate on tournaments enough so they're really underrated.

Questions to Tifa
How would you rate your team-mates on the basis of their DOTA skill on a scale of 1-10?
I don't think that DotA skills should be rated. We all play differently and that's what makes playing with the girls so interesting. For example, Eva is a 10 when it comes to support but I fail at it so hard. It depends on the role we play in a game.
How much do you think gaming is going to evolve in the world? what future do you envision?
Gaming has already become a lifestyle, it's growing so much. Even in third world countries like Argentina, the number of gamers is increasing. When it comes to the future, I think -and hope- it's only going to keep evolving.
Real Life
In real life whom would you consider to be your role model and why?
I don't really have a role model. I just want and like to be me.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy gaming, anything from FPS to RTS. I love singing, speaking to my friends on ventrilo, eating sunflower seeds, sleeping, going out with my friends and owning everyone on Pudge Wars with eMg.Muffins.

Strategy
What is the biggest imbalance in this game?
Bottle, I think. It's definitely the best item right now.
What is the most effective weapon for a str/agi/intel hero you have used?
Butterfly for agility, radiance for strength and aghanim for intelligence.
Team Questions
What is the best part about playing with your team?
They all make me laugh so hard. Especially Michelle, she jokes about anything.
Have you'll met in real life once? What did you'll do?
I haven't but I can't wait till I do.
Conclusion
Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
Hopefully, with my own place, my English studies completed and why not, a boyfriend.
Would you travel to another country to take a shot at pro-gaming if offered?
YESSS, take me to the US so I can meet my team and live happily ever after as a pro gamer.

Introduction
What made you interested in computers?
Ever since my cousin Sarabeth showed me what e-mail was, I got hooked.
Do you think you're on your way to becoming a progamer? What has been the situation till now?
I've been a bum till now!
LAN Gaming
What according to you has been the most funny situation in a LAN event?
Probably when someone passes gas, or have a gas passing contest, it makes me laugh so hard.
What is your impression of Asian/European players? Their manners and skill?
I love playing with European's. They have amazing skill, and even better accents. I don't really have a lot of experience with Asian players, I watch a lot of replays of the Asian league games, and I would love the chance to.

Questions to Sunie
Would you like to change your game to a FPS or switch to console gaming?
I was never really into FPS's.. The only real experience that I've had has been in CS and a little bit of Unreal. I just love love love RTS's. Also, I get a little dizzy sometimes when I play FPS's, nothing is worse then getting a little vertigo.
Besides DOTA, what other games do you play?
Right now, I also play Diablo
Real life
In real life whom would you consider to be your role model and why?
I really couldn't pick just one person to be my role model. So many people have done amazing things, and picking just one to look up to seems kind of a waste. But if I had to pick... I really look up to Stephen King and Orson Scott Card. I'm always impressed by writers.

Reading, writing, sitting, and sleeping. I also like shopping, and hanging out with my friends. And.. of course.. DOTA!

Team Questions
What is the best part about playing with your team?
Everyone is about having a good time. And having a good time is the sort of time I enjoy having. Especially if that good time is during a really fun DotA game.
Have you'll met in real life once? What did you'll do?
I've met all of the girls except Daniela, and it breaks my heart that I haven't met her yet. I met the rest of the girls at Fire in Ice in Chicago. It was last month, and it was seriously such an amazing experience. We goofed around a lot, played DotA and talked about hot guys. What else could be more perfect?

Introduction
What made you interested in computers?
Well I'm actually not too interested in computers at all! They just developed while I was growing up. I remember Oregon Trail as one of the first games I ever played. I did consider doing a computer science minor for a brief period of time in high school/university, but after a handful of classes, I decided it wasn't for me! Nowadays, the internet is essential for living, so I can't really avoid computers.
Do you think you're on your way to becoming a progamer? What has been the situation till now?
I've been following the competitive DotA scene for quite a while, but it hasn't been until the last couple of months I started playing for a serious team. I used to be the cheerleader for my favorite teams, encouraging my favorite players pre-match and holding up their spirits after a disappointing game. This background has actually become very useful now, because I learned a lot of strategies, teamwork, game play theory, even the dynamics of team drama (which nearly EVERY team has) from it!
Fans and observers usually only see matches and their results, but there are a lot of things that go on behind the scenes. I try to use this experience now as I strive to be a "pro-gamer" myself.
LAN Gaming
What according to you has been the most funny situation in a LAN event?
That is definitely the time during Fire and Ice when our entire team went to the bathroom all at once. We had some fun in there!
What is your impression of Asian players? Their manners and skill?
I am not as familiar with Asian teams as the North American or Euro teams, but I believe they have a lot of undiscovered talent. For example, Kingsurf (a Malaysian team) placed 3rd in MYM Pride #8 by defeating SK gaming! I'm sure that I'm not the only one that was surprised by this!
Selphie posing
Questions to Selphie
What's the current status of DOTA around the world?
DotA is definitely expanding as a competitive venue. Because of this, the skill level of players continue to rise as the game changes and new strategies are thought up!
What are you studying at the moment? How did it come to pass?
I am currently in my first year of medical school. I have always wanted a profession where I would be doing something interesting and meaningful! I can't imagine doing one of those desk jobs all day.

Real Life
In real life whom would you consider to be your role model and why?

The Origin~
Miss-Ashe - we decided to use the names of female final fantasy characters. I'm a final fantasy fan and for many series the main characters have always been males. However in the latest series, FFXII, they introduced a female character (ashe) as the protagonist. She was portrayed as a really strong and independent character and I liked that. So I decided to use her name as my alias.

Questions to Ashe
How do you think gaming can be improved in your country?
Gaming is popular in Canada, like it is in many other countries. I'm sure that some games are more popular than others. Using DOTA as an example, I'm sure it's quite popular but not many Canadians are playing dota at a competitive level. Perhaps more people would take it seriously if Canada did well in international-level competitions like ESWC or MYM nations. Same goes for other types of games.
What's the biggest challenge being a gamer?
I think the biggest challenge being a gamer is trying to balance it with the others things in your life. For example, when school starts I find it hard to allocate time to practising DOTA with my team.
Real Life
In real life whom would you consider to be your role model and why?
My mother and father and my friends are my role models, because they all inspire me in many different ways

Strategy
What is the biggest imbalance in this game?

Introduction
What made you interested in computers?
I've just always been into technology and hardware. I'm the kind of girl that would rather get a hot new gaming mouse on my birthday rather than clothes. Ever since my cousin Sarabeth showed me what e-mail was, I got hooked.
Do you think you're on your way to becoming a progamer? What has been the situation till now?
I'm already a pro-gamer. nP.... but really we are.
LAN Gaming
What according to you has been the most funny situation in a LAN event?
When our whole team went into the bathroom at the Fire in Ice LAN. We only had one PMS shirt on us so we all had to share it to take heads shots. Before each girl took her head shot, she had to do a stripper dance....I got a lap dance from one girl. NP!
What is your impression of Asian/European players? Their manners and skill?
Asian's tend to be a lot more reserved and Europeans are cocky. Europeans are probably the best DotA players in the world though and Asia probably has the most hidden talent.

Questions to Rinoa
Hailing from India, have you ever thought of coming here to work for e-Sports?
I would definitely come there to promote female gaming if given the chance. One huge part of Indian culture is that women don't stand up for themselves much or they are frowned upon over things like gaming, and that's something I'd want to help change.
How do you think existing mentalities towards gaming (especially, parents to children) can be changed?
The only reason it changed my parents mindset is they saw the benefits that started coming from it. Honestly, Indian parents are all about studies, marriage and a career, unless you can barter gaming somewhere in that, it's kind of hopeless.
Real Life
In real life whom would you consider to be your role model and why?
I don't believe in role models. I think instead of always focusing on who you want to be like, you should just be yourself.
What are your hobbies?
professional gaming, bubble tea, singing, team PMS^Miss, IHOP, dancing, traveling, asian horror movies, DotA, ventrilo, Final Fantasy, long showers, new clothes, candles, writing
Still with team-mates
Strategy
What is the biggest imbalance in this game?
Shadow Priest + Bristleback = QQ
What is the most effective weapon for a str/agi/intel hero you have used?
Strength- Assault Cuirass, Agility- Butterfly, Intelligence- Shiva's Guard
Team Questions
What is the best part about playing with your team?
They're all hilarious. Never a dull moment, especially with SUNIE.
Have you'll met in real life once? What did you'll do?
I've met everyone except my Latina sweetheart Daniela. We just played dota/hung out/laughed/cried etc etc.

Conclusion
Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
I don't like thinking about the future, I just live my life one day at a time.
Would you like to travel to another country to take a shot at pro-gaming if offered?
I WOULD SOOOOOOOOOOOO DO IT IN A HEARTBEAT.
I would firstly like to thank all the girls for their time and effort in filling my rather boring questionnaire. I wish them the best of luck and will be glad to see them succeed in future DOTA tournaments.
A big thank you to myMYM.com for all the pictures of these kind ladies are from that site.
And a final thanks to everyone who read this interview, feel free to drop some feedback and flames if you want to. I will be back again, next week with a new interview so stay tuned!
