I've been hearing some nasty rumors recently, claiming that the inaugural season of the CGS is already over. So soon? Good for them, but quite frankly, siding with the majority, I couldn't care less.
The Championship Gaming Series has had about as much impact as an Anonymous raid on the Church on Scientology with the general populous. Try to discuss the importance of the CGS to eSports at your local and you'll soon become the victim of weird looks whilst your friend Old Bill sneaks away "to go to the toilet". No matter what guise DirectTV dresses its show in, the CGS is not hitting the target audience, nor in fact any audience.
The inspirational decision of 'drafting' voluptuous Keeley Hazell as match official has to be the biggest selling point of the show to date. The Brunette bunny boiler from London has the pulling power to keep all adolescents glued to the screen as she gets her specified time slot to blow a whistle.
Not even an expose of Sujoy's secret love tryst with Ms.Hazell as the biggest eSports sex scandal on record would push the CGS to the forefront of the mainstream media's gaze. Only if the London Mint manager was inclined to upload the rumored sex tape would anything CGS related be worth watching.
The thing is, nobody has a clue what the CGS actually is. Mention it at a computer college to educational equivalent and you may receive a rare ripple or murmur of recognition from those reclusive types, but unless you meet someone part of our so called underground eSports movement you can talk till your blue in the face but your recipient will still fail to understand the relevance of the attempted CGS monopolization of eSports and more importantly as to how it is career threatening to hundreds of people spanning the globe.
No matter who Keeley beds this week, be it Besel, Sujoy or the dark horse with the bookies Odee, I know that I will instead, once again be watching David Anders manipulate Peter Petrelli as Hiro quests to avenge his fathers death.
