xertion: "We have great chemistry"

The interview

line

You knew you had the chance to be drafted at this qualifier event. What did you expect before going to Birmingham?
Not much actually, we just wanted to show everyone we were on our way of making a comeback. We hoped we would do well and hopefully get a top3 spot but we never thought it would end like this to be honest.

You met the Fnatic Call of Duty 4 guys, are they cool?
Hell yes! Those guys are great, really laidback and an awesome sense of humour :D. Keep rocking those CoD4 tournaments guys

Do you think it would have been the same if HeatoN had picked you in Stockholm Magnetik?
You mean me being the only dutch player in Stockholm? No way, it would've been really weird and I don't think I would've fit in their team either.
Don't get me wrong they're all nice guys but I have much better chemistry with the guys from Berlin Allianz, they're awesome dudes :).

How do you feel about the CGS being able to basically destroy teams by picking certain players individually at a combine?
To be honest, at first I did not like it because I've been together with my old teammates for so long but on the other hand, it's a step to a more professional league. For example, you can now compare the CGS with soccer or any other sport.

Why did you guys initially decided to go to the CGS Combine, while knowing you guys could be split up?
Well, ever since the CGS started we've always wanted to be part of it. We've been doing these regular tournaments for more than 2 years now and everyone of us just wanted to take this opportunity to take our gaming career to the next level.

How did the overall Combine go, did it go as you expected? Better/worse?
Worse. We were hoping we would end in the top3 but we knew it was gonna be really tough and thinking we would probably not make it (also because of a lack in CGS rules preperations). But we thought, let's just give it our best and see what happens. So at the end we were quite pleased that we ended up 2nd.

So you and Blaze got drafted, together with 3 other Swedes. How do you see your chances in LA against the new Magnetik line-up?
I think we're gonna do really well. We've played with our line-up for 2 days now. We have great chemistry and we're doing quite well.
Offcourse we don't expect everything to run very smoothly right way because it takes time getting used to talking english ingame and getting used to new positions but I know we will be prepared in time, no doubt.

So now you and Blaze are playing for the Berlin Allianz, what do you think the other guys from Fnatic.css will do?
I really hope they will continue playing but the chance of getting a good dutch css player is quite slim so the team will probably be international.

What did the the other guys say/think about you getting drafted over them?
Well we all played good at the combine so everyone had a fair shot and no matter who got drafted we knew every single one of us deserved to be picked.
Offcourse darky, AirRaid and proph were very disappointed so would I be if I didn't get picked. I just really hope they'll continue playing.
And I know we're gonna stay in touch because we're all good friends so we'll probably crash a party every now and then :).

What do you reckon is the reason you got drafted over the others (not just the other fnatic.css players)?
I'm an allround player and I think that's what they were looking for. Also because I always really got along well with the guys from Berlin Allianz.

Are you happy or proud to play for Berlin Allianz?
Very proud and offcourse very happy :)

Since you have to speak in English with your new team mates, do you think it will have effects on your game in any ways?
No I don't think so, I think it will work out fine because we all speak very decent English. In the beginning it might be a bit rusty but I don't think english is a problem no.

THE cs team got split up
why not just draft entire teams, I don't get this system you never know in advance if a team of individuals will work, and after 1 yearif they've developed good chemistry they will probably get split up again =/
anyway gl in CGS milan and quint, congratulations on a well deserved draft!
