Hi Simon! Do you feel ready for this interview?
Not really, I didnt know what to expect, as its the first time I've ever been interviewed. Woop woop.

You are one of the yougest staff member here in fnatic. Isn't it too difficult to work with older people?
You'd think so, but thats not the way it turns out. Everyone in the Fnatic crew gets on rather well all of us joke about and everyone gives their own fair share of banter as well as receiving it. Although recently RvB (Roychez) and Elroy (Noname) have been trying to 'set me up' with someone for i34 which is perhaps a tad worrying but luckily never materialised.

You went to your first LAN for fnatic at Birmingham for the CGS UK qualifier. How were the rest of the fnatic staff and the CoD4+CSS guys?
It was great meeting people I'd spoken to for almost 6 months and getting to know them even better 'irl'. Everyone was like one big family and the event itself was fun with 2GD taking part in DoA and actually winning a game, and all the players were nice and welcoming. Also I got to meet Malystrx and _evan (yes he is just as arrogant on lan) who helped me with keeping hold of a computer even though they are from our 'rivals' SK. Overall I really enjoyed my first lan and cant wait for the next.

All the journalists team thought useful to recruit you when you were working for Edge Gaming. Did you know that?
It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside to know I was wanted (and hopefully still am :P), being arrogant I never doubted my ability but I still didnt expect to be recruited by prestigious organisation such as Fnatic, and now I'm really happy to be here. Although thanks must go to Genuine (my mentor at Edge) and Niek who actually got me in contact with Fnatic, I wouldnt be here without those two.

You began first as columnist and then you became Head of CoD4. Tell us the changes you went though during those two periods.
If anything the move to Head of CoD4 has developed me as a writer, giving me experience in coverage as well as articles. I've also got to meet and talk to new people - although it has stopped my from writing as many columns as before but I hope to be writing more frequently the summer is over.

Someone told me you loved Metal music, as our dear King of Metal aka eckomonster. What is your current top5 and your favourites bands?
Picking a favourite is hard, I listen to so much music other than metal as well, but my most played at the moment would be (in no particular order):
Kids in Glass Houses - Fisticuffs
Pendulum - Mutiny
In flames - Crawl Through Knifes
Bullet for my Valentine - Scream aim fire
Enter Shikari - Sorry you're not a winner

Simon, you are now working for a few months with the Call of Duty squad. How does it go?
Its great to work with them they are all friendly and helpful, I've even been able to decipher some swedish from the private channel :D. Tidde cant stop smiling and MintR wears a hat no matter the weather - also its great being on lan with them as I'm taller than zEm and mint :P. It was sad to see MintR and zEm leave the team, and I wish them good luck in the future, but its also nice to be working with zsilts again and getting to know the new player, Rivve, better.

According to you, who is the coolest or funniest Fnatic CoD4 player and tell us why?
If I could pick a funny moment it would be being told of Linqans midnight wimpering but to pick one person out from the five of them is impossible, each one has their moments :p

If you had to describe yourself in one word, what would it be?
Ummmm...

16 years old is a bit young for an "eSport journalist". What think your family and friends about that? Did you tell them?
My family are pretty supportive of it as they know enjoying it whereas my friends dont know yet, they are all still uneducated 'xbox pros' whilst I'm the odd one who promotes PC gaming. If you dont know what I mean by xbox pros, I mean they are people who think maytrdom and the p90 are skilled on CoD4 and that consoles are superior to computers.

What do you like about writing your own articles?
I enjoy writing in general, but writing my own articles gives me satisfaction especially when people agree with what I'm saying - also it gives something to make the time pass as well as a good excuse to moan!

What do you like to do besides gaming?
I'd like to think I lead a normal life, going to school, listening to music, playing football for my local team, going to music concerts and generally having a good time.

How does it go at school? What are you studying?
School, I seem to excell "without enthusiasm" (as one of my teachers said), I'm supposedly a talented student but extremely lazy as school quite simply bores me :p. For my GCSE's I took Food, Triple Science, Geography, History, ICT as well as English and Maths.

How do you see yourself in 5 years?
Again, I dont know what I will be doing in 5 years, but as I'd only be 21 I see myself still involved in eSports - perhaps at the fnatic office (:P). But anything could happen between then and now to change my life, so really I dont know. Perhaps I lack focus, but I just take things as they come.

What are your plans for the future? (in real life & gaming)
I don't really know what I want to do in the future, in an ideal world I'd have gaming involved in my full time proffesion, but with the current climate of eSports that isnt possible at the moment. I'd just want to enjoy my life really - You only live once! :D
