The weekend of October 17th-19th will see The Extreme Masters III Global Challenge visit the Olympic Stadium in Montreal, Canada. The two games featured for the tournament are Counter-Strike 1.6 and World of Warcraft. But also half way across the world in Denmark, SLAP Live #16 will be under way with tournaments in Call of Duty 4, CS 1.6 and Counterstrike: Source.
At the Counter-Strike 1.6 event in Canada we see Made in Brazil and the Swedish powerhouses fnaticMSI.CS and SK Gaming as top favourites. Also a lot of North American teams such as Evil Geniuses (CA and USA), CheckSix and Gravitas have signed up and will be looking to come out victorious on home soil.
XLBET has also provided a list of bets which you can access from their website. Some of the odds are:
Special bets (Head to head, last to be eliminated):
fnaticMSI (1.75) - EG.usa (1.85)
A first place at MLG Dallas made fnaticMSI.WoW one of the favourites for the event in Montreal, but they will have to deal with their biggest concurrent from Europe, Nihilum Plasma, who earlier this month beat Fnatic at BlizzCon and ended up winning the event.
Unfortunately the attendance list for SLAP Live #16 is a lot smaller than previous CoD4 tournaments, but regardless of this top Dutch team, Button Bashers will be in attendance with what will be their first tournament since AEF whilst home favourites will be Roskilde Ravens.
Update: fnaticMSI.WoW fall out in the Group stage of ESL EMS Montreal on Head to Head record versus aAa.
Update 2: fnaticMSI.CoD4 wins SLAP Live #16. The final against Button Bashers was quite tense, with the Benelux team picking up the first map (mp_strike) with 13-10, but eventually the Swedes came out on top by winning 13-6 on mp_crash!
Update 3: fnaticMSI.CS win the ESL Extreme Masters Montreal event from the lower bracket beating SK Gaming twice on de_inferno.

I'm interested to see how the 1.6 squad turns out on this event, tough game (?) against Gravitas... good luck CoD4, a final versus BB would be very cool (after playing the semi against them for the Insidiae Cup)! hope the WoW team wins this, they've been so good lately that it would be like the cherry on top of the cake! :P

So now Button Bashers has to win 2 straight maps in order to win? I think fnatic will take this! They only need to win 1 I think. It's a bit weird coming from the LB when it's BO3.
I think we are gonna see some demos of this afterwards. I thought someone said that they would release demos once the tournaments are over, hopefully it's enough with just one tournament! :)

Congratulations COD, great to have a win.
WoW, I really can't believe Blizzard brings in a new patch a few days before a major LAN event that changes the power of characters so enormously. How can they keep this sport professional when they do things like this? Its like allowing a Goal keeper to become superman in soccer and telling everyone 3 days before.
Absolutely crazy.

Love the analogy! :p
But I think the decision more lies with ESL as to which patch was used as they could have set up a server on the older patch - although I'm not too sure.

Great job fnaticmsi.cod4 :O, well played guys
Sucks about the patch changes for WoW though.. the tournament could have used the old patch though, so not really Blizzard's fault, unless I'm mistaken.
