The second of the big three summer LAN's for Call of Duty 4 and Counter-Strike: Source takes place in Gimle, Denmark, going by the name of "The eXperience".

Ran by Roskilde eSports, from the 29th of July to the 1st of August, 20000€ will be on offer over CoD4 and CSS with the best teams from all over Europe competing. Tournaments are also held in Trackmania Nations and FIFA09.

Both FnaticMSI.CoD4 and FnaticMSI.CSS will be in attendance along with Neil 'kboy' Kirk at The eXperience.



The Coverage will be a bit different than you are used of us. We will have various posts, all with its own information and they will be more details. We will for example have a special post for the groupstage matches, one for the playoffs, etc. All these post will go more into detail and will be more interesting for everyone!

Call of Duty 4

pictureThe CoD4 tournament will comprise of two stages, a group stages with 8 groups of 4 teams and then a double elimination bracket. From the groups, the top two teams will be placed into the upper half of the bracket whilst the third placed teams in the group will be placed in the losers bracket while the fourth place group finishers are eliminated.

In the upper bracket for every match you win as a team there is a small bonus, in the first round its 175€, then 350€ and so on. Then finishing third place gives an extra 400€, while there is 1000€ for second and 3000€ for first.

Prize breakdown:
  • Upper bracket 1: 175€ to each winner
  • Upper bracket 2: 350€ to each winner
  • Upper bracket 3: 700€ to each winner
  • Upper bracket 4: 1.400€ to each winner
  • Third place: 400€

Counterstrike: Source

pictureMuch like the CoD4 tournament, the CSS tournament will feature 8 groups of 4 teams followed by a double elimination bracket. The third place team in each group are put into the losers bracket while the top two finishers are put into the upper bracket and the 4th place finishers are eliminated.

The Counterstrike Source tournament also follows the same prize breakdown as the CoD4 with each match win in the upper bracket winning earning the teams a bonus. This means that an undefeated team in the Counter-Strike:Source tournament will get: 5.625€.
