Hello everybody, it's been a while since I wrote my last blog and yeah, a lot of things have happened during the past few months (after I finished my army duty which started on 1st of March 2009 and finished on 1st September 2009). I was very happy once it ended because I was able to go back home, spend time with my family, girlfriend and of course continue my work for FnaticMSI.
Fnatic PLAY
Since then, we've had many LAN tournaments, changes in some of our rosters, interesting community projects, and a bunch of PLAY tournaments, featuring many different games. As you know, we are currently working on a PLAY Female CS 1.6 5on5 tournament and so far it's been a great success.
We received a lot of applications and doubled our participants, so the tournament is now open for 32 teams instead of 16. What you don't know is who am I working with on this project. It is the captain of our CS 1.6 team, Patrik 'cArn' Sattermon, who is working closely with me on this project and of course our general manager Elroy 'Noname' Pinto. We are all working hard on this and we want it to be success because this is our first tournament for female gamers. So far, it's been great working with the girls and their managers, they are all very polite and nice.
We will have HLTV to stream the games, write-ups during the tournament, interviews with teams and players, in-eye demos and more, so stay tuned, as we will bring a lot of fun and some great games.
Ugame
Along with Fnatic.com, the new version of Ugame.net has been released. It has improved features and options. Before the EVISUA team started working on it, it was rusty with a lot of spam content. It's all clean and shining now, and with your help we will be developing it more and more to become Facebook for gamers and a gathering place for many people involved in gaming worldwide.
One of the new features is "QUIZ". It is open for anyone and you can test your gaming knowledge there, and also add some more questions to improve the quiz. Stay tuned as we work more on Ugame.
Heroes of Newerth
Since the beginning of beta stage, I am playing Heroes of Newerth, a clone of DotA created by S2Games. The game itself has been very successful, we saw many online tournaments, a few game casting sites like HoNcast.com where you can find a lot of VoD's and see some great games.
With one of my old friends, Kjetil 'extr3me' Øvergård, I decided to create a team which will bear the name of one of my first clans ever, Centurion Gaming, where I basically started my e-Sports career. It all started with a few more friends and we wanted to play some games together, so Centurion Gaming was reborn.
Since that point, it changed and become sort of mine and extr3me's project which is developing pretty well so far. We got a hold of two more great players and at the moment our lineup looks as follows:
You noticed we have only three players but that's because we are developing slow and steady to make sure we have a team based on good relations between all players and quality in game communication and performance. Thanks to our graphic designer, Tomek 'Tom' Lewandowski, the man behind all banners and graphics on Fnatic.com, we now have this awesome clan logo and I must admit this is very exciting for me. I hope you will see Centurion Gaming participating in leagues and cups soon.
"Real life"
I could say that things have improved a lot lately over here at my place. First of all, my father is feeling pretty well lately, having all the necessary medicine he needs and that's the most important thing. My younger sister is working as a dentist and I got 1 more job. Yes, that's right, I am working as website designer and that was a great opportunity for me which I couldn't refuse due to a few reasons.
First of all, the fact that I am working from my home meant that I will have time for FnaticMSI and my family/girlfriend. That was the crucial factor, otherwise I might have missed it because the job I have here is adorable and I am enjoying every single second of working for this lovely organization.
As I am still a beginner at HTML and CSS I have to learn a lot and thus, I am spending a lot of time in front of my computer which is pretty stressful sometimes and my neck needs some rest, definitely. I am learning pretty quickly, this is a new experience and I am loving it. The combination of these two jobs is great and I can commit myself to both fulltime.
The relationship with my girlfriend Ana is just great lately (not like it wasn't before). I spend time with her whenever I am not working but also when I have to do something while she is here, she is supporting me and she is always willing to see my work and read my posts and articles. It feels really great to have a girlfriend who understands what e-Sports is and it shows gaming industry is really big and growing each day.
Until my next blog, be cool, stay healthy and put a smile on your face. We at FnaticMSI will do our best to bring more and more interesting news, projects, tournaments and everything you got used to, with some surprises now and then.
Until the end of time, as 2Pac said.
