I'm not really sure. I've thought about it a lot, but I'm not sure about what I want to do yet. If e-sports continues to grow, I could see myself working with it, trying to give back some of the experience I have from being a player and developing products with sponsors etc. I'm not really one of those persons who have their whole life planned -- I don't spend a lot time worrying (or thinking) about the future and thus I don't have a specific answer yet, sorry.

I guess it comes from back in the days when all the monitors didn't handle 100hz. I'm so used to playing with 100hz and vsync off -- the flicker in the middle of the screen doesn't bother me at all. I don't think there's any particularly good argument for having it turned off nowadays, I guess it just comes down to the fact that a lot of players is used to it (and the majority of the tournaments use LCD:s now, so you have to turn it off a lot anyway).

I tend to switch from time to time without any apparent reason -- if I feel like I could need some change in CS, I mess around with my settings. Right now I like 640, because that's what I'm using, but there's not really any "better" resolution. If your using AWP exclusively and not playing the other weapons a lot, I think I would choose something high -- like 1024 -- due to the fact that the picture is a lot clearer and you see more pixels and therefore you can hit your hard long-range shots a bit easier I reckon.

Can we expect new game with a question like when you teached someone randomly?

Yes, of course. I hope that some of the other guys in the team will do it this time, but if they refuse, I guess I have to do it again. I enjoyed doing it and I think that it's a good idea to run more competitions like that for all our fans.

Do you think that Hyper could have been considered as the best player of the world back in time when he was playing for EYE (winning CPL Summer 2004) and then playing for SK. What do you think of him and his playing style?

I think he was considered the best back them. He was a very solid, smart player, clearly ahead of his time. He's a very good guy for sure, we met him a couple of months ago in Stockholm, before one of our trips to China next year. I've played hours and hours of Counter-Strike with and against Hyper, so it was really fun to catch up and we talked a lot of gaming memories.

Back to your topic: Yes, yes and yes, Hyper was one of the best, if not the best player at the peak of his career. Personally I think the latter.

I think the only thing unique about my playing style is that I keep my mousepad a lot more to the left than most players. I almost have it in the middle of my screen. I like it because I feel it's easier to aim better that way. I don't really think I hold my mouse in any special way, I guess the mousepad setup is the uncommon part of my gaming setup. And oh, I don't change anything depending on state of mind.

We're very good friends. He's a great guy and I admire his CS smarts more than any other player in the world. He's also the only guy in the team who has as bad (or good) humour as I have. All in all, we have a lot of fun, but we are also always trying to improve in CS (we both hate to lose, obviously) and during 2008, we're hoping to be better than ever.

Is there any chance you might pick any other game in the future, If CS1.6 is dropped in all leagues and competitions?

If some more good games are created. Right now, there aren't any other games I would consider playing. I may re-think that though, depending on my gaming hunger if or when CS 1.6 fades away.

I just play a lot of CSDM, but also a lot versus bots. What I do is that I basically just try to mess around with my sensitivity so that I can control it flawlessly. When you know your sensitivity inside and out, AWP-ing fast becomes a lot easier. I just try to look at my opponents name, and when their names popup on my screen, I shoot them. I use the names as a crosshair when I'm nozooming.

Emulate is a very tricky team to play -- they have really, really good players and they aim very well. They will end up on the podium (top3) a lot in 2008 I reckon, if they continue to perform as they've been doing lately. I've watched some HLTV games with them, but I can't really remember anything special about their game right now, other than their superb individuals. MSX is really insane. It seems like he's the f0rest or Neo of the team, if you will, doing a lot of superb things on his own, winning loads of important rounds for them. Needless to say, they're all very good, not just MSX. We've practiced versus emL on LAN a couple of times, but not so much online.

Is MSX the best players of the world? It's very hard for me to say, he's certainly up there with a few others.

Teams we practice against: If I have to guess I would say that we practice most versus NoA/Gravitas and aTTax.

I think it had a lot to do with us actually not wanting to play BYOC with a looooot of background noise. Also, they said they playoffs were supposed to be run on tournament computers, which were only the case for a few matches per round. It feels lame to say that we didn't want to be there, but in all honesty that is the truth. We lacked motivation and that without it you can't play your A-game. Dreamhack wears you out, you have to play a lot of matches and they made the seats so you could barely fit your keyboard and mousepad, which sucks. Anyway, it was our fault that we didn't motivate ourselves and we've learned a lessson for sure. In the SK-game we just played like a bunch of tired idiots and I'm surprised that we managed to get that game end up 14-16, because we played sub-par alabama, almost like when we tied TBH ESPORTS at GameGune on inferno in the first game of the groupstages.

No, we don't have personal deals with Razer. It's all handled through Fnatic. We have a great relationship with Razer and we try to do as much marketing as we can for them, because -- and this may sound cliché -- we enjoy their products a lot, and a part of our success comes from them. When Patrik (carn) and I went to Thailand and Singapore on vacation, we had a few sessions at the Razer office in Singapore, shooting some photos and testing and giving comments on future products. I know that they listen to us and our discussion with them will probably generate a lot of good ideas. Some of the ideas will become future products, I'm pretty certain about that. And some of the pictures we took will end up on future product boxes. From an economic perspective it is obviously good for us to be seen a lot as well, as it generates interest for us, which in the end can lead to more promotional trips (or money =D) down the road.

do you have any OLLDDD POV's still on your computer? I'm sure everybody would absolutely LOVE to see a classic dsn demo package!

A lot of players fails on their movement I would say. Other than that, I'm not really sure. Some players don't think through what they are doing. You have to remember that CS is a team game and most of the errors are made during team play, meaning that they're not necessarily individual mistakes.

With glock, you just have to shoot a lot slower than most people do with semi. Glock is insane if you just shoot really, really slow.

Before tournaments we play 18.30 to 23 or smth like that with the team. When we don't have any tournament coming up in a while, like over XMAS, we barely play at all. I've played some CSDM since Dreamhack, but that's about it.

Our recent trip to Seattle and LA for three weeks was awesome, even though the results at WCG is something you want to forget. We had loads of fun, going out, relaxing by the pool in LA, shopping and then we managed to win the ESL Masters, going home victorious. (I assumed you meant USA by overseas?)

Try to play a lot with players you feel are better than you. Watch a lot of demos and just _THINK_ a lot about the game and what you're doing good and bad and use the knowledge to your advantage. I like to play a lot of CSDM, I feel that it gives me the best training, but I bet players like different things.

For movement, just jump around a lot and try to move around on the maps. I'm not really a movement god, but that's how I improve my movement.

I just gather all the information I have -- which players am I up against, how tricky are they, how aggressive are they, what do they know about my position etc etc. Basically I just try to use all the information I have to make a correct decision verus the player or players I'm up against. I like DeathAdder and Pirahna headset. US clearly has a few decent 1.6 teams, but the scene seems a bit dead, with only a few teams attending qualifiers, which is sad. I think CGS is boring to watch, but might be fun playing. I think they can improve if they just look a bit more at the televised Starcraft games in Korea. And on E-MAT I used the non-smooth side (dunno which one it was - control or speed).

There are so many talented players out there, but only few ever get on a top team. Is it just experience thats missing?

Have you ever used a cloth pad with your sens? I like higher sensitivities, but sometimes I just feel like my good old cloth pad is rather counter-productive (friction) and makes my aim inaccurate . On the contrary I've never used any hard pad, so I'm kind of unsure if it's a good idea to give it a try.

I mean, you have to be quite lucky to get to the top, even if you're very good. You have to be a very good team player and somebody must have the guts to take a risk with you, because that's essentially what it is about. In the right environment a talent can grow, but he must be very comfortable from the get go to not get nervous at tournaments etc. As a player with experience, you would have to support him and try to help him get into the right mindset. So yes, there's probably a pretty small difference in skill.

About mousepads made of cloth. Meeeh, I get to sweaty using them, I prefer hard pads. It's pretty individual and I would say more top players use cloth pads than there are players using hard pads.

Great internet leads to very good practice opportunities. There are a lot of good teams to play here every night and I can't imagine that it's very easy to find solid practice in Aussie, compared to EU. Then there's a lot of small tournaments for young players to attend and a lot of big tournaments for the pros.

What is it, that is so special about your whole team that makes you look so much more mature and interested than all the other teams? Have you ever felt this is the right way to behave towards those others, maybe because it feels just right because you have been raised like that, or have you developed this unique behavior within your gaming career? To me it seems there are a lot of teams out there with a few nice and friendly players playing in it, still they are overwhelmed by the players, orgas and managers in it who behave like selffish and arrogant fools...

I think we are smart enough to realise that having fans makes it possible for tournaments to be held. Also, we think it's cool to have fans and we try to give back as much as we can to the community, because we know that we got a bit lucky to make it this far and we want our fans to become the best that they can be -- we try to provide our knowledge about the game.

I started at a cafe in Gothenburg, waaaaay back. I started out only playing LAN with my friends, because the they didn't have any internet connection.

Does Anti-Aliasing and Antisotrop(Or whatever its called) have any influences on Counter Strike Aiming? It really looks better when you play at 8x/8x but it feels a little bit "slower". Maybe you know if its usefull to play with AA and Antiso. if the PC is able to handle it. tnx

I don't believe in God and I think you should play with AA etc if your computer can handle it and you think you play better with it. It looks better, but you should not be able to aim better just from using it.

Why do you think games like Counterstrike, Quake and World of Warcraft have made it as the main games in Esports, selected for nearly every competition and are more generally accepted than games which are based on some of the worlds biggest sports. I guess you could compare it to PES or FIFA. I think Football/Soccer is easier to sell to the casual viewer but within Esports i think CS, CSS, WC3 and WoW are generally the games that are attracting the most interest and are more respected as "skilled games". Why do you think this is?

I'm not sure. First of all, I think that a lot of players in Fifa and PES just play with their mates for fun. I don't really know if there's any active community behind the games, which might be an issue. It's a very good question and I'm not really sure, I mean it should be fairly easy to set up tournaments for it and run it on TV because well, it's football and the rules are known by everybody. I guess I have to think more about this and then we can talk about it in the future.

Possibly. I would be doubtful that more people play/buy counter strike than the amount that play/buy a game like Fifa though. For example, the latest edition of Fifa, FIFA 2008, sold just under 1.4 million copies in 2007 and it only came out with 3 or 4 months of 2007 left! I dont even like Fifa btw, its just the best example i could think of as its the most well known console game probably.

I cant speak about Fifa too much as i am not sure on exact competitive numbers as i dont play it but just as an example, we have 50,000 players playing competitively just in the UK for PES and that is just for one ladder.

I am not saying it is wrong how it has turned out, i am just asking for Harleys opinion on why things have turned out as they have as he would be in a good position to answer i think having been to a lot of the major competitions and probably met a lot of people behind them. In theory games like Tiger Woods Golf and Fight Night would be easier to sell to the general public than a game like WC3 or CS. Because everyone understands it without having to have it explained to them and it is more socially accepted than a game which does not have a real life counterpart. Just for the record, i hate golf and am not a huge boxing fan, just mere examples. Sometimes things that would work in theory dont work in practice and i dont think Video game golf would work at all... but i hate golf in general so i may be wrong.

Again, i am not bitter or anything, im happy with PES! Was just a question as to why Harley thinks CS/Quake/WC3 etc have had such phenomonal success in comparison to games that may appear to be easier for the general public to understand and more likely to enjoy.

I am sure Harley will understand i am just asking a question different to the norm, and maybe he will enjoy answering something other than one of the standard questions he probably gets asked 100 times a year. It is something i have often thought about so it would be good to get one of the top CS players views on it so i can maybe understand a little bit more.

with high sens i mean 3/11 windows 1800dpi and 3-4

I think you will do fine with high sens, if you just practice a bit with it. It's hard to get used to, but you will get good if you just play a lot with it.

I would like to ask you, did you have some times when the bullets just "dont go in". I mean, you're not making any mistakes in your shooting, the bullets just didn't go in. Have you experienced that in a serious/important moment, if you did - tell us when :)

A lot of times, I feel that it's pretty common. I can't really remember any specific moment, but a lot of times you've felt like you've shot 30 bullets without doing any damage at all.

Many people still wondering what does "dsn" mean, and I'm 100% sure that you already told in an interview that dsn stands for DeSigN. i have this problem where i ALWAYS seem to change me crosshair size (sometimes colour) whenever i feel that i dont perform as well in cs as i should, eg. missing easy shots or cant kill at all.

Atm im using 800x600 small

I always try to stick with one setting but in the end i just change it, this usually happens once every few days sometimes i change it once a day. Is there something i can do to stop this habit?

In the match vs EMG on train you had a mouse problem and carn paused the match wat was wrong with your mouse?

I think there was something about Vista giving me negative acc, but it worked out in the end, I just had to mess some with my mouse settings.

I want to ask you a question about a weapon- D3/AU-1 Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle. That's the "4-6" weapon of the terrorists. Is this weapon forbidden and why? Cause here in my country it's forbidden in some leagues, but I clearly remember ( also got a screenshot ), an year ago
MYM]REAL used this weapon on nuke,dust2 and other maps in a very big tournament ( I can't remember which one, maybe ESWC but I'm not sure )

It has not been forbidden in any leauge I've ever played, as far as I know. Sounds really stupid to ban a weapon -- I can understand banning the sheild, but not a weapon.

I don't think it matters too much. I think you see 1.3 (T) a bit worse through smoke, but I've always picked the standard skins and now it's just a habit you don't think of when joining a team.

Do pro gamers use bhops to there advantage during game play ?
If so brief me on when bhops could prove handy and how many bhops in a row could you perform ?.
Or is it just a fancy looking skill, not too useful.

Secondly how do you do the nuke big rock jump in the de_nuke map. I seen you do it like just another jump on hltv. I just dont get the trick of doing it. (Is it closely related to bhops, coz i can bhop ?)

hey, good questions. i think it might be useful to bhop out of an area when you run out of ammo or get semi-flashed. it's really handy to just do a quick jump then just strafe around a wall and then you're gone. i don't use it all that much and i don't think a lot of players do. at long ranges, it can be good to just strafe jump around to be harder to hit.

I am a wc3 gamer being part of one of the best spanish wc3 teams instead of spain is not too good in the wc3 scene t.t.
I'm 18 years old and the next year maybe I will go to the university..
and sometimes I play CS (your gameplay style is the best have ever seen ^^). Sometimes play CS to improve my reflexes with AWP only and I have to say I have good skill really.
My HARD question is...?
- If you have the chance to become a pro-gamer or a gamer who is being part of a big clan with sponsors, salary, etc. Will you leave your studies? / or you will do both things (study and play)??

Btw.. My dream is to become a high-skilled gamer maybe not a progamer but being a high-skilled gamer really. I love computer games and It's something that I can't do later..

Well I know it's hard I only need an answer of a progamer who knows what a 'progamer' is exactly and if you can study while playing, etc.

And a important question to add. How many hours do you sleep to feel better to play CS with your best conditions?

while it's your dream to become a progamer, i think you should still stay in school. you can definitely manage both, if you just plan your time well. try to get tips from other gamers and ask a lot of questions. and, as i've said before, it's not the amount of hours you pratice that matters, it's how much you focus and how many new learn things you can pick up in a short time. i hope that you don't give up your dream and manage to find a successful balance between gaming and school.

I was very surprised by a comment u made above about F0rest! Its pretty obvious that a person who actually plays against other pros have a different opinion and better insight then the rest of us noobs about who is good and who is not. But not to mention F0rest as one of the top three fragers in the world is to me weird. Sure you mentioned him as one of the best, but maybe not as a frager? Isnt that what he does though, he frags, and if he is one of the best players, doesnt that make him one of the best fragers? Surely you cant claim that NEO and Msx are (better/maybe slightly better sometimes) fragers then F0rest. Your other team mates seem to think F0rest is the best, why dont you?

In the whole NEO vs F0rest debate, I think that NEO might be more consistent, but F0rest has a higher highest level. A bad NEO is better then a bad F0rest. But an in the Zone F0rest is better then an in the Zone NEO. Whats your thought?

we had a months break, so i guess it's fair to say that we were a bit rusty. i almost exclusively use it with silencer, because i like it better, but i think you spray better without. the only situation i like it without silencer is at really long distances when you just want to shoot one bullet at a time.

I would've played with Razer/EV products even without them sponsoring us. If Fnatic had another sponsor, I would have to play with their products, but as a player without any contract, I would def. play with Razer/EV.

hmm, i guess you could play pistols on DM, but i mostly just play pistols versus bots, and it has been working out for me. just try to fire your bullets sloooooow in almost all situations.

very good question. i think good, but not great, players have very good mechanics (aim, movement etc). great players are able to see patterns in opponents game and uses patterns when learning the game to get better faster, as an addition to good mechanics. world class players has both the two previously mentioned skills, as well as; they are winners, they can identify patterns in their opponents game, but also in their own game and make deceptive plays and they understand the dynamics of counter-strike (or insert game here) and know how to play when the flow of a game is going in a certain direction.

that's what i could come up right now, if i think more about it i might be able to identify some other things.

So if we use mouse like deathadder we would loose some aim control . And now my question :D Could you tell me that do you think about it and how it for you using 2800 dpi..
