This morning, I took the subway to go to the Palais Omnisport of Bercy, which takes place at around 30 minutes of my place. I arrived there at 10 o’clock and I saw lots of known faces. I met several French players and journalists who where all waiting for the registration.

Unfortunately, the press had to wait till 12 to register and then I could get my official "press card" for this weekend. I went to the press room first, which might be huge enough for all the websites coming from all around the world who will come to Paris to cover the event. Then, I found the big stage with the first Warcraft III match of the French ESWC Finals. There already was a lot of crowd supporting their favorite gamers and some Daft Punk music right after the game.


I went to the Counter-Strike player area where the best French teams were fighting for ESWC.fr. First thought is that the players won’t have to play with all the noise from the central scene. The computers and screens seem to be very good, the admins aswell. Although, one player told me that his team had several freezes during the game, I hope that the admins are going to fix that for tomorrow.

Today the French ESWC finals took place and the Grand Final will be played tomorrow, on stage obviously, where emuLate! will face the French new talents from Millenium. The Fnatic Counter-Strike squad start their first game of ESWC Masters at 11 o’clock against the Finnish top team, Roccat, for the first Group Stage match. Our very own Quake III player begins at 10 o’clock and will have to face the British player “ddk”.
