What do you want to know about Counter-Strike?

BLOG

Hey guys,

It's time for you to pick what I should write about. The topic is Counter-Strike and you can write any CS related suggestions in the comments and I'll pick the idea I find the most interesting.

It can be anything from living your life playing computer games to more game specific guides explaining how to beat a better team using some nasty tricks -- it's all up to you.

The suggestion I pick will be the subject of an article I plan to write in the near future and publish here on Fnatic.

Get creative!

Have a nice day,

Harley

My question is, do sponsorships FORCE you to use their mice, pads, and hearing equipment. And does getting used to the products make you inconsistent for a while or does it make you play better. I ask because when f0rest switched from the krait to the deathadder he was a little iffy if you know what i mean. then he switched back to the krait recently and has been on fire. and also you said you recently switched back to the 1.1SE from your Deathadder and you said you thought you were in love, lol. what i got from your statement was that you like your 1.1 cause you've played with it forever more than the deathadder. basically do the sponsorships throw your preference's out the window and say "USE OUR PRODUCTS". sorry for the life story length question :D

DSN,
what settings do you use to lighten up the dark spots in maps like dust2 and train? The max in-game settings for gamma and brightness are still not good enough for me. Also, can you make it brighter without making flashbangs last longer? Thanks? ;D

dsn, I know that's not the best idea. And since you're playing competitive cs it's getting, let's say, not better *lol* BUT when some guys and I play a funwar and we start 'sucking', we just play more public style. Well, I don't think that will work in competitive cs as well. I'm just crazy *HAPPY*

I would like to know more about friendship and team play. Fnatic.CS has now the same lineup for like two years. Is there a secret to not make any roster changes even if something goes wrong or some strategies dont work anymore?

How to get the most out of your bootcamp, the best way to remember tactics and to practice them (in pcw or just the team) and how to keep the teams moral on the highest level posible? Thanx DSN

Well yeah basicly:
- do your sponsors really make you use their products? (Cause I know SK guys have to write that they use steelseries products in their profiles, but actually SpawN plays with a DeathAdder for example)
- If your teammates have, let's say, 2,5k all of them and you have 5k and cArn says "eco" will you buy deagle ?
- What's the standard tactic ( the things you do in the beggining in almost each round ) for the terrorists on de_nuke ? (zonic has done this for de_train and de_dust2 for hltv.org but he stopped and I really don't know the standard on nuke)

About the CS-scene in sweden! Interesting things like zet,f0rest and the rivalary between SK-gaming and fnatic.

Why do you switched back to MS1.1 from razer DeathAdder at the same time the razer sponsorship expired and what the reasons for this change were?

Hey, so i'm just gunna go right into my question here.. How much did you practise per day before you went professional and before you went to lan. How would you practise and prepare for an online match or do you still even prepare yourself the same way for lan as you did before your professional career?

I would really like a dsn career walkthrough, and opinions on the teams you have been playing with both offline and online. How did that affect your daily life, school etc? And maybe the thing that drove you to become a pro CS-player and how you keep that mindset throughout years of training and competitions(spell?).

I think it would be nice to write something about the psychic in the game not just the brutal headshots and player's skill.Like what you feel when you play the game against a just as good if not better team than you guys. And give some advice to players who get really annoyed when they get killed in a funny way or something.Just show the public that counter-strike isn't only about brutish player skills.

well, I would prefert that cArn talk about leading in game, but I saw you suggest lot of tactic too. In inferno you are leading the bp1 as ct's, so you may answer one of these questions..

1/ What the trick to get enemy's economie, to predict an eco ? Maybe more general the cs econonic war system ?

2/ Detail the work of getting a tactic and working on it. Maybe also detail a team week before an event ?
for example I do a strat until the choke point reach'd (sort of antieco) then some diff for attacking each bombsite for my team. I submit the strat on a playbook (.pdf), then workon and arrange with pracc.

cheers,
bOnbOn

i think we were expected to put suggestions, not questions...

Well, just find great nades (you will not be able to frag them with these nades), so your opponent can't go directly to the bomb sites, get advanced poses and just wait!
that's what i call pushing tactics, and it works like hell!
I've always played like this on CoD1, and i can tell you that the number of teams that can handle these tactics is small! :D

just be original! Other teams just play the same "kind" of tactic...if you can take original poses, they will be surprised!

hmmm well I'd like to know the answer to question no: 6
and 1 thing
Seeing all playersin the international CS scene , I am just =X on seeing you guys move across the map , jumping up and down ladders , performing bhops and jumps as if your doing them in real life?

How does 1 become that way because in pre 2003 era no one used fancy jumps or crouch hop tactics as much as now with every player doing crazy movements ???

And 1 more question , you guys visite India last year , how do you find the quality of 1.6 gamers that you saw, can they act as a threat to decent teams which qualify for ESWC,WCG,Kode5,WGT (These are the only tournaments Indian 1.6 players ever attend).

Please reply to this! :P

Probably just useless ideas but I think you need a change in your play style to be as competitive as the years before.
In my opinion fnatic shouldn't adjust their play style to just one player (f0rest) try to be a team again. Pay attention to mTw in my opinion there isn't a MADFRAGGER in the team but they work together as a team. MYM is in the same position as you are because they depend on Neo's form so this is very hazardous.
Lets get back to Fnatic. I don't know if "Steam friends" is working correctly but I check your accounts regularly and noticed that you don't play as much as I had expected.
I calculated that every guy plays about 47 minutes a day and I think thats not enough to be as dominant as in the past years. I mean you guys are getting paid for playing so you could put little more effort in practicing. I mean its way better than a 9 to 5 job isn't it? (Recommendation is addicted to the correctness of Steam friends)
I share the same opinion as mousesports | Kapio because he said that in his opinion you are the team with the highest individual skills. From my point of view a change in your gamestyle and with more practice you will become the best team again.
Maybe you can make a bootcamp where you can pracitce a lot and watch demos of you toughest opponents. I believe if you watch the ESWC Masters demos particularly of MTW you will detect some mistakes you made and you will be able to improve your game. Hopefully these improvents will end up in a win next tournament.
I will be highly pleased if you guys could make some (2-3) (every player) photos of your gaming place at home so everyone can see the mouse, mousepad,.......
Hopefully you will win the next events I will stay tuned.
ps. I keep my fingers crossed
Cheers

A number of top player have said that cs at the top level is "random". Do you think the skill ceiling will continue to be raised or is the future of e-sports in games with a much smaller role of "luck" like quake and starcraft?

Forget all the other comments.

Write about your time in Gamers.nu and what made you guys underperform all the time, since your only victory was CPL Spain against Mouz. How long did it take you to get over that CPL Summer 2004 match vs. 3D :)

Also, write about when you decided to become a professional player (what you saw that made you play competitively) and how you got a spot in xP.se.

Cheers mate.
