To start, I'm puting on a quote the officialy news posted on CSPromod.com by Alex (CSP director).
CSP Enters Closed Beta
| "CSPromod has officially as of today entered its first closed beta. Beta testers consist of only a handful of people, and the group includes members of the development team, as well as several of North America's top Counter-Strike players; players who have each played at the highest levels in both CS 1.6 and CS:Source. Closed beta testers will remain anonymous so that they can spend their time on CSP without interruption. The mod is fully playable, with all aspects of Counter-Strike having been hard coded. The closed beta will be used primarily for tweaking gun behavior, as well as to test for bugs on a general level. Several kinks in player animations will also need to be worked out. We have not set a date for our first open beta, so please don't bombard us with questions about that. Simply have confidence in the fact that, yes, the project is in a near-complete state, albeit an unpolished one. We will release news about an open beta when we are ready to. An additional disclaimer: despite forum rumors, people who donate/have donated to CSP have no special privileges or early access to the closed beta. We want to make it very clear: at this time, we are not offering any access to the closed beta, period. Whether you're a player, a press representative, or a supporter, please do not ask for access to the closed beta at this time. It is not being given out. Media, including screen shots and video clips, will be released soon. Thanks to everyone for their patience and dedication as we press forward towards our goal. Alex" |

nice stveN :)
In Portugal if counter-strike 1.6 overs, the gaming dies with it. But we still have good PES FIFA and TMN players. Here the common pc is something like:
intel 2.something
512 ram
FX5200/MX440/9250/9600
the portuguese mentality thinks that when we bought a pc we have a thing and when it gets outdated they think about buy a new one instead of try to upgrade the machine with some regularity. Soo they think that CSS and CSP sucks because the don't have computers to play it.
But i'm very insterested in CSP development

Thank you STRESSY :-)
Well, this mentality is a lil bit 'junior', dont you think? Just because they cant have it, they discriminate it. In my opinion, you should do some economy and buy just a better processor that CS:S and CS:Promod runs so much better :>

Yes, i agree but most of cs portuguese player play since 2003, 2004 and they have lots counter-strike 'in their heads' so they don't are big friends of the changes. Some of them said when cs 1.5 turned to 1.6 that prefeer play cs 1.5 with some podbot instead of the new cs 1.6.
But today have a computer that gives 100fps in css isn't big deal.
I upgraded my machine when css cames out
Geforce MX440 -> XFX 6800GT
P4 2.6 -> P4 3.0
512MB ram -> 1GB -> 2GB (nextweek :P )
In my opinion CS player is a previliged gamer because the game do not requires lots of money on computer upgrade.
