Hi there! I've gotten pretty many questions about my strange nickname over the years so I thought I should clear things up a bit.
Well, it all started about 6 years ago (maybe its even more? =D) when I got my eyes up for a great game called Counter-Strike! I only played it on a local inetcafé since I didn't have an internet connection at home back then. I played with different nicknames in the beginning but I didn't really like any of the nicks I had used. I had to get a new one, an original one!
I started thinking about myself and what might be appropriate for me, but I just couldn't figure anything out. And then one day when I was changing my controls, sensitivty, spraylogo etc I came up with an idea. I had used the "No camping" spraylogo for a long time already, even in Half-Life before I started playing Counter-Strike, and just thought, why don't I make a nickname out of this spraylogo? =)
Well, since there is a tent in the logo the nickname had to include tent somewhere and eventually i chose Tentpole. I've used the nick ever since and I will sure as hell stick to it no matter what people think about it, I like my ugly nickname!! =D

My nick comes from a town in Holland named Sneek. Pretty funny, because you pronounce Sneek the same way as you say 'Snake'.

I've noticed a common phenomon, that top players nicks(no matter how stupid they are) are widely regarded as innovative nicks. SpawN and HeatoN probably started the trend of having capital N at the end of the name.
Anyway, as for mine: It used to be SpiritKnight, but since it didn't fit with a clan tag on IRC I shortened it to SpiritK. Now thats very hard to pronounce, so I modified it to Spirit. Recently I've dropped the capital "S". Makes me feel innovative !

well for me part is was back in 96! when I was playing stoopid videogames and crap I always been a huge fan of a specific manga which was about a space pirate who just flew all over the galaxy to protect the human race from the attack of evil humanoids! :P
The main character name in french is "Albator" so I decided to use that nickname from the start and like 3years ago i decided to short it and use "Alba" instead then dropped the capital A at the start because it didn't look good!

I used to play a lot of UT and I often heard "momomonsterkill". So i thought "hmm am I that good?" and changed my nick into Eckomonster cause eggomonster looked a bit silly. Nicks before were: Lecter, myers and 1349 from Hannibal Lecter, Michael Myers and 1349 is a blackmetal band.

well Moya, the thing is the nickname is suposed to be something you like, no matter where it does come from but if you get something really unique with a real meaning behind it then... well it's kind of better... I guess :P

Actually it originates from a book (yea... 8 years ago i was reading a book from time to time... but times changed i guess). My nick is darKzero as u can see. How I came to the nick: well I was in a clan in the game Americas Army and I was playing with some germans, they were just chatting a bit and of a sudden on of the said: "das Kapital zOMG" I was like LOL so I changed my to dKz, but since it's hard for some people to pronounce it I made it darKzero which if you shorten it become dKz aswell:D

Mine has a really weird story, for he comes from a drunk sport teacher who noticed that my name (Jeremy) looks like the character called Gimini in Walt Disney's Pinnochio, and me and my friends laughed for so many time with this that it became my nick, replacing the final "i" by a "Y" to make some kind of pun with my name Jeremy. It also became my real life nick since that :pp
