Hi readers, this is my first blog. I hope some of you find it interesting too, I just thought I could share an anecdote with you. Last week, I was in Hannover meeting some clanmates. After about two and more years playing together, I really was looking forward to that. That's why I booked my ticket 3 months ago to get a really cheap price, which was 58 € (everything included, 2-way).

I won't bother you with my experience in Germany, I'll fast-foward to last Tuesday, where I should take the flight back to Vienna. Since the guy, I was sleeping at, had to leave on 05.00 AM for an exhibition, I decided to take a breakfast in downtown Hannover. My flight was scheduled for 15.40, so I had lots of time. Anyway, I decided to go to the airport by 09.00, because I am the kind of guy who knows, that there will be some problems, everytime I have to stand on my own feet.

When I arrived there, I directly went to the Check-In to get rid of my luggage. The woman on the desk was really friendly and everything was ok, at least I thought this. I decided to take a nice cup of coffee and a second breakfast. But as almost everytime, my intuition made me having a look on my board card. The name there wasn't mine. The first to letters of my last name were the same. So I went back to the counter.

After another 30 minutes I stood in line, the "Oh so friendly" woman looked at me and asked me, if there are any problems.

The conversation was like this:


"Hi, Hittner is not my name." "Well, it's not important if there are one or two 't's." "No, this name is spelled correctly. But it's just not my name"

She took my passport again and told me that my name wouldnt be in the system. So she called the airline and asked, what she should do with me. At this time, I kinda found it strange that she never demanded my ticket. After about 10 minutes, she told me that I should have taken the flight yesterday. She sent me to the "AirBerlin" counter.

The was another very friendly woman with fleshing white teeth who smiled the whole time. But she had the biggest smile when she told me that I have to pay 230€ to be allowed to take the plane back to Vienna still today. Well, as you can imagine I was kinda mad, especially at me because I was too dumb to remind the correct date for my flight.

So I bought a new ticket. The first thing that came into my mind was: I need a cold beer. After that I really felt that everything will gonna be ok again. But then, it hit me directly in the face: "Where is my f****** luggage ?

So I moved to the counter again. The woman there was still there and told me I could pick up my luggage at the socalled luggage counter. I gave the man there my passport and my luggage-bon.

"Sorry, this luggage doesn't belong to you. Where have you found the luggage-bon?"

"häh"

"Your name isn't Hittner"

"I know, it was the friendly smiling woman's fault at the check-in"

After explaining everything to him, I finally got my luggage back. I checked in a second time and got on the plane. Today, I can laugh about this story. But in future, I 'll have a look at my ticket at least once before my backflight ;)
