How many female tournaments are their yearly?

no offense or anything but your are definitely exaggerating the whole thing, I know the female CS scene is having harder times than the male scene. Which is quite sad but you can't generalize a group of people like that, it's completely wrong! Surely there are a few people who doesn't like the idea of girls gaming at huge lans and such as, but why do you even care it's not like the whole world is against you is it? There might be a few people who doesn't want to see the eSport scene grow larger with female gaming and my favorite console but it will come slowly over time due to the fact that people needs to get used to the idea, even though the female scene is starting to get "older". Rakaka is great >:)

If more e-sport clubs (brainfreeze about what word to use) took more interest in female gaming, it would increase in popularity in a heartbeat. The tournaments of today would probably take it more serious and arrange more things for them. Today there is only a few of these orgs with a known team, for the common gamer. On another note, you could question why girls should play against other girls only. But, girls haven't really been taken seriously by male gamers since.. ever. Correct me if I'm wrong, by all needs. It might sound harsh, but this is something you can't deny. By giving females more space in the scene overall, it will decrease the gap between boys n' girls. If it is us (kinda hard to not count me in.. since I'm a silly boy) boys and our bad attitude in general.. maybe. I personaly find this absurd, since I play cs with/against girls often and they are far from bad nor useless (to quote how all haters describe girl gamers). Perhaps its just me being sucky sucky (sigh), but all these haters (mostly young guys as said by Ms. zAAz) need to experience how it is to play with girls before they hurl out all their negativity. Altho, I don't understand some of the things when it comes to female cs. Why do some girls need to do teampictures in shorty short skirts and alot of skin, with cleavage all over. I think you know whom I mean with this, no offence to them.. but.. It's not like you ever will see f0rest (for example) do something like that. In a male version ofc, appealing to women. Not that he is ugly.. Damn I messed this up real bad. :x Just some of my buzzed 50 cents in the matter..

I think most male gamers just don't understand why females get preferential treatment. E-sports its not like regular sports where males have a physical dominance, so they are separated. Females should be able to compete with males in computer games. When female teams get thousands of dollars in sponsorship money, and prize winnings mid-tier male teams that can beat you find it aggravating because they don't get any type of treatment like that, they are stuck being bottom feeders. I'm pretty sure that's the reason why males post comments like that.

Yes, male gamers tend to have bigger talents in gaming than female gamers. But I don't see it as a "big wall" that you can't cross. For instance, the SK Ladies, they placed 5th-6th @ GameGune Mexico 2009. (Don't have a wrong impression that I'm trying to promoting them here). Even though they couldn't beat EG (lost 16-8, 16-4), who placed 1st, but certainly they are capable of beating them in the future if they keep improving. And it's certainly a proof that female gamers can do something against top male teams. The only question is "Have you tried your best improving your game?" About the flamers & haters, it's natural, isn't it? There will always be haters, no matter what you do. Be it in professional sports, politics, or businesses. And you know you can't control it. Freedom of expression. Ignoring the haters is the best thing you can do. Just avoid reading their comments and it won't ruin your day.

God, fortunately I'm not swedish so I don't typical read fragbite.se or rakaka.se. But I have to agree with you, how many comes around Sweden saying "Swedish national women icehockey team sucks because they can't win top MALE teams", excuse me what? Counter-Strike is also sport, or electornic sports but it's sports. I don't give a fuck if someone is saying something like that. I know personally 1 women gamer from Finland and I have to say she is good. btw: And also, have to agree about the HLTV.org, it rocks. btw2: I try'd 5mins HoN before the other guys kick me from the match. Eheh, haven't try HoN after that. :D

Nice blog. Can agree with most of your toughts. But, I don't think that female pros can't compete against male pros only because they are female. I think it's more of a playstyle problem. Even I, a Quake Duel player (ok I have some CS:S background), when watching a game between two female pro-teams, see mistakes that simply should not hapen because they are so dumb and obvious that even girls (who perhaps don't play >8 hours a day and do concentrate on other things) should see and avoid them. But pretty much all the female-teams make those mistakes over and over. So the conclusion: You need male-pros supporting you while you train and telling you if you did a mistake, if you did not see it by yourself, so you can correct it and play better next time. If you would manage to do this in each train you would get to a point where you can atleast be a serious opponent for the male teams (perhaps not win them but atleast give some good games for the viewers) Peace and keep on playing (perhaps in a cuple of years we will have a decent female-gaming scene) And sorry for my bad english :) HF GL

"Well WHY should we play against the male team when we know for SURE that they are better than us?" - A lot of male teams aren't good enough to win tournaments and they still practice hard and try their best - why won't you do that? Why do you think that females don't have a chance? It is because women in general are worse at computer games or is it because you are worse? In either case, the people you complain about have a pretty good point - why should worse players get payed? It doesn't make sense and people with a brain will always complain about it.

Some things you say are true, others are not. Much people are complaining on the girl scene of Counter Strike 1.6 and think its lousy, horrible and boring. Sometimes it also is that way, compared to the male scene. You have to think about that every person is allowed to have an oppinion, whether you like it or not. Since you are saying that for a fact, you wouldn't stand a chance versus the male top teams of Counter Strike, why is that? E-sport and real life sports are different things. In real-life sports, men have got several advantages do to larger muscle mass and body capacity (might not be the right word - but you get the point). These things doesn't affect you much in E-sports, now does it? Male players and female players both have the same chance of getting the same gear, graphics etc. On the internet, you are a character that you play, what could possibly keep you girls from becoming as good as the boys do? I mean, you can train versus the same teams as the top male teams does, so why dont you do that and actually try to pracc versus the male teams instead of saying that its impossible to beat them when its not? Man up! (or in your case, Girl up!) and train harder and beat some male teams to prove the 'haters' wrong and not right.

The only thing that bugs me regarding female gaming is that WHY are they not as good as the men? I mean what could possibly benefit a male gamer compared to a female gamer regarding mindset or physique when the only thing you use ingame are your hands and brain.

Not to being an ass... but realy, the female players aren't that good at all. They loose to randoms like me. Then why in hell would fnatic play a team that they could beat in their sleep? Let's just face it. The best womens gets beaten by the worst male pro teams. They should try first to beat the semi-pro cs scene first before they go pro. And just to clear it out, I am not jealous im just trying to make a point and maybe inspiring a bit. As these famous words put out: Play hard, go pro.

Cs girls sucks, no offense. It's like watching girls playing football. These two games simply aren't for you. Go and do something else.

Female players can be very good players, for example these girls. They wouldn't be the best female players if they aren't.. They deserved it.. They love it, and why would they play then? There are some not very good female players, but most of them play it just because of the boys, these girls are the girls most of you meet.. But some girls just love the game, and play for themselves, and their skill.

You're absolutely right about 12 year old boys wich are 80% active at posting comments. Fully support you as 25 year old man wich post comments 3-4 times during a year -)

It isn't only swedish problem - really. In Poland is this same situation. I always laugh of this but sometimes it makes me really upset. How can i play when i always hear this same words - you're lousy. Never good enough for you guys ;/ !!!

Think about it this way: I should get better too show these fuckheads that I am a great cs player. Let it motivate you rather then destroy your confidence. I don't see why you couldn't be better then them :). Practice makes perfect!

Well the female players dosen't deserve all the fame and money because they are not good enough. We should mix up the scene so they can get better! Face better teams = better understanding of the game and alot more precise aim. For atm female cs aren't even close the male cs. And I can't see a reason for why female players shouldnt be able to compete at top level (its not that physical strengh are needed in cs). Just practice hard and you will get there. Skill and dedication = Fame and money. If you get destroyed by random players like me then I don't think you deserve money atleast. Fame isn't much you can do about realy.

If female gamers started also 10 years ago like the males. I think we wouldn't have a big difference between our styles. As you can see, females who play longer (around 8 years) they are mostly better in skills then the girls who started few years ago. I think its a bit weird that zAAz says first that she hates the female-haterz but then she says: "We know that we will loose vs male teams" . All male teams are beatable. You just need to find 5 girls who love the game and not the fame and train as much as you can. This is just what I think.. :~D

I feel sorry for swedish guys which hate female cs. Female cs it's a beatiful thing. P.S. in Ukraine we love female cs.

First of all its not only swedish guys that dislike female gamers, its world wide, in fact there are alot more supporters for female gaming in sweden than there is in any other country. It was gotfrag that first published a "hate female gaming" along time ago. There they talked about why females where aloud to take shortcuts in the gaming scene. Plus they also talked about the unfair support they got from sponsors, i.e they took sponsors from teams that was alot better then them, fair right? Add to this the ridiculous igorance of female gamers, the extreme self righteousness, the believing they have any right to take all of that fame/glory/money from a bunch of guys that practice ten times as much as them, fair right? It is just that, a matter of who deserves the sponsors when its a huge demand for them? Well i can say this its not the woman, that lack skill, dedication, motivation that the guys have, fair right? So get it in your thick skull, dont try and defend your given position that you have not worked for, do not try and make us beleive that you have any right whats so ever to be where you are. You are just trying to hold on to the sponsors, fame, glory and money that is not yours. The funny thing is that you have not thought about it with an open mind, try and see it from ALLLL the guys perspective, i.e what if it was the other way around? The woman where the ones that played 24/7 and here comes a few guys that got all the things that the woman are fighting for with blood tears and dedication, here they come and play 5 hours a week and gets all the attention, all the sponsorship they need to travel the world and have fun, fair right? Think about that and then write another blog and we will se what you come up with. The conclusion is you are just greedy and refuses to see how it really is, pathetic...
