RaidCall ShootMania #1: Day 2 concludes

RaidCall ShootMania #1: Day 2 concludes

The first rounds went by without too many upsets. All top teams either got a BYE or comfortably won their first matches. Some notable results in the Round of 32 were Eclypsia beating UT2004 with 2:0, Epsilon beating Punchline with 2:0 and arguably the biggest surprise, Spanish Inquisition winning against Gamescom’s 5-6th place finishers, Absolute Legends.

In the Round of 16 we could see some top contenders and well-known names clash. Matches such as Team Dignitas versus iPLAY, won by the first with 2:1, were very entertaining and brought use close, tense games with almost an upset. We also saw the Quake legends, Millenium.Int do well, overcoming the Finns of Thrice with 2:0. Spanish Inquisitors could not keep up their momentum after beating Absolute Legends, falling with 2:0 to Epsilon.

Moving onto the Quarter finals, only eight teams were left. Eclypsia versus Epsilon, surprise package Big Balled Gentlemen, versus Millenium, PyRo|GEN versus GamersLeague and Team Dignitas versus Millenium.Int.

Eclypsia started off looking out of shape against Epsilon. The Dutch side and Gamescom winners lost the first map and were on the verge of getting knocked out. However, the next two maps, eventhough close, were won by Eclypsia, which meant they head into the semi finals on 31 August.

The surprise package and American side Big Balled Gentlemen were up against one of the top teams, Millenium. Two close maps decided its ending, with Millenium winning, which meant they are up against Eclypsia in the semis.

PyRo|GEN versus GamersLeague proved to be the pinacle of overtimes and delays. After some crashes and other sorts of issues, we went into overtime on both the first and second map. The third map however concluded a bit faster, ending into PyRo|GEN their favor. The French side won 2:1

The final quarter finals match was between Millenium.Int and second seeded team, Team Dignitas. The Brits were looking shaky already in their match before against iPLAY, and could not redeem their Gamescom form in this match either. Millenium.Int caused somewhat of an upset, beating the Brits with 2:1 and being the final team in the semi finals, facing PyRo|GEN.

The semi final matches for Friday 31 August are:

  Eclypsia

0:2   Millenium

 Millenium

  3:0  Millenium

  PyRo|GEN

0:2  Millenium.Int

 Millenium.Int
