Tournament preview

With four FnaticRC players representing the black & orange on-site, Fnatic will not only have the most players in Valencia, but also four players that can play a key role in the tournament. One of our players will get special attention. In his second offline tournament for FnaticRC our Dutchman Harstem is looking forward to a tournament he is well prepared for and is surely able to spring a surprise. But the competition won't be an easy one. With players such as HerO, Stephano and Nerchio taking part, this is looking to be a great tournament with a lot of great matches coming up. Player statements

Past few tournaments have been really bad for me resultwise and I hope to change it at DH Valencia. The participant list is really good though. I have practiced as much as possible the last few days and I have come to the conclusion that I have to think about the right build for each map more carefully.

Dreamhack Valencia will be my second event playing in in the black and orange. My first event (Asus rog) didn’t go well at all. This time I feel better prepared and I hope that nerves will not be an issue for me. I played a lot the last few weeks and can’t wait to show how much I improved since my last event. Valencia here we come!

I hope I will be able to play my best and show good performance for fans and FnaticRC.

Tournament information

The DreamHack Open Valencia is the third stop on the DreamHack open tournament series. The top two finishers of the tournament will receive a direct invite for DreamHack Winter 2012. In addition to that, €16,500 will be given out to the participants, with the biggest share going to the first place. Just like the tournaments before, the first sixteen places will receive DreamHack points, which will be added to the players' respective DreamHack rankings. The top eight of the ranking will also receive an invite to DreamHack Winter 2012, which will be held in Jönköping, Sweden from 22nd to 25th November.

Prize fund distribution

1st - €7,850 + direct qualification for DHW 2012
2nd - €4,500 + direct qualification for DHW 2012
3rd/4th - €2,300 +20 points
3rd/4th - €2,300 +20 points
5th-8th - +12 points
9th-16th - +5 points
