Overview
The challenge has finally arrived! A real test for our Dota 2 team - their first international LAN event! And none other than a DreamHack event, a very symbolic event for our ex-HoN team!
This time, the event will just be a qualifying event for the main event which will take place in November at DreamHack Winter LAN tournament. Even so, we feel this will be our time to shine and show the Dota 2 world that our guys have been practicing really hard in order to catch up the other teams who have been playing Dota 2 for a lot longer. The qualifying event will be held in Valencia, Spain, over the course of two days and it will start on the 22nd of September. There will be eight teams involved in the competition, and apart from our team there will be the likes of Inferno eSports attending the event as well. Prior to the event, one of our players Johan "N0tail" Sundstein said the following:
I'm looking forward to Valencia a lot, it's going to be my first trip to Spain and I'm looking forward to seeing the scenary, seeing team again and hopefully owning some Dota games!
Our team will be fighting through a best-of-one group-stage which will lead to the playoffs, where the matches will be played in best-of-three format in semi-finals and grand finals! The prize pool of 4,000 euros is announced, where the winner will take all the money along with some Dota 2 apparel, accessories, and hardware!
Be sure to support our team, as they will play their first match on the 22nd of September! Even though we will be using a stand-in for this tournament, due to our fifth player Kai "H4nn1" Hanbueckers being unavailable to play, we have high hopes for the event!
