Everyone is well aware of the situation facing Rekkles and the Fnatic League of Legends team heading into Season 3. Riot rules will not allow Rekkles to play in Season 3 as he is under-age at this time.
However, instead of leaving the entire organisation, Martin will move to the 6th spot on the Fnatic League of Legends roster. Fnatic will also be forming a League of Legends academy team with Rekkles being the first member! Fnatic along with the League of Legends professional squad and Rekkles will work hard to form another highly successful and competitive academy squad in 2013. The academy team will be attending every non-riot event of this coming year.

Below are statements from both Rekkles and the League of Legends team manager, Harry "hxd" Wiggett:
Harry "hxd" Wiggett, Fnatic League of Legends Manager: Our one wish to Santa was for Riot to allow Rekkles to play with us in Season 3, unfortunately they stuck to their guns and continue to forbid players under 17 to play, which I understand. This leaves us having to give a tearful goodbye to Rekkles from the main Fnatic squad. However he isn't going anywhere. Martin will stay within Fnatic to form an amateur team in 2013. Next year Fnatic aim to continue their recent success, without Rekkles. We have had a fantastic time with him and he has been nothing but perfect for the team. He helped put us back on the map and we are now motivated for 2013.
Martin "Rekkles" Larsson: It's with great sadness that I will be leaving the Fnatic professional roster. After months of discussion between us and riot we couldn't find a way for me to play in RIOT events in season 3. I wish my team goodluck in the future and hope they carry on performing well in season 3 qualifiers. However I won't be leaving the organisation. I will be creating an academy team with the help of Fnatic for 2013 and will return stronger than ever!
Is it possible to apply to that Academy?
It would personally be a honour to play with Rekkles as a big Fnatic fan, and would also be a great opportunity to learn a lot of things! ;-)
I think this is a lovely opportunity!
I am glad that Rekkles won't be leaving the organisation! He has far too much talent! Although sad to see him leaving the professional team. he only did them well.
All that is left is to wish Rekkles all possible luck with his academy team :)
And my favourite team, all the best, and good wind - with finding a carry that can fit as well as Rekkles. :)
Best news i could have read in the morning ^^ So sad, and happy at the same time. i knew that he wasnt going to play for you but he is staying in the Fnatic wich is great. I wish Rekkles a great year aswell as the main team, just keep the momentum going. This is our year, the year of 2013! <3 FNATIC <3
