We are very excited to announce that FnaticMSI will from now on have its own Academy team from South Korea. The new project is aimed to develop talented players from Korea who haven't had the chance to show their true potential to the scene.
With FnaticMSI's knowledge and experience in eSports and the players' talent we are sure to form some world-class players to climb to the top of the Starcraft 2 leagues.
At the start of this project the players will participate in several online tournaments such as ZOTAC Cups, Go4SC2 and the TL Open. Once they can show FnaticMSI successful results they may receive an opportunity to join our A-team. This will not only open doors for our Academy players, but also our A-team players who will get to know different play-styles and tactics. In the end it will pay off for the whole FnaticMSI Starcraft 2 division and will be a huge chance for everyone.
On the next page you will get to know the three players better; who are the current FnaticMSI Academy team? We also added replaypacks for you.
FnaticMSI's General Manager Elroy Pinto added a statement about our Academy team:
"Today we begin a new chapter in StarCraft 2 in FnaticMSI. We are happy to welcome 3 talented Korean amateurs into our team. Thanks to efforts of Vestige and Brian we find oursevles taking up this project where we look to develop the untapped talent available in South Korea. August, Skit & Porigo will be joined by some more players in the coming months. We are looking forward to their progress and are very sure that they will perform to the highest standard needed to compete internationally and we will be there to support them right from their first baby steps! Please give them a warm welcome and a big thanks to MSI, SteelSeries, EIZO & RaidCall for their support on this."
Brian Hyun 'DoubleD' Choi had the following to say about the new FnaticMSI.KR:
"My name is Brian Hyun Choi known as DoubleD or FnaticSpS. I have been personal manager, translator, a good friend for FnaticMSI.Rain since late June. I currently go to a graduate school in the US. Today, I am here as the inventor of FnaticMSI's Starcraft 2 Academy team - a new branch from FnaticMSI.SC2 to develop and search young and talented SC2 gamers in South Korea.
I am really content and excited to open this new project up. I believe this can be a leading step towards the globalization of the Starcraft 2 scene, or e-sports if one observes in a bigger scale. Our primary goal is to develop these young Korean players who have potentials, but have not been given the opportunity to reveal them fully. Furthermore, I believe that this will allow the cooperation between the current FnaticMSI.SC2 pro team members and the new Fnatic.KR members, both game wise and social-life wise. I believe that Team FnaticMSI has taken a big step to become the leading member of the globalization of e-Sports. I am grateful to Team FnaticMSI for giving the opportunity to operate this new program and I will do my best with the two managers, Elroy “Noname” Pinto and Seung Hwan “Vestige” Hong to alleviate communication and management issues as much as possible to run this new team without much troublesome.
Thank you for everyone who supported this project and once again, I will give my best efforts to assist in the smooth operation of the team."
The first FnaticMSI Starcraft 2 Academy players are:

Currently I go by the alias of PorigoJung (FnaticPorigo for official matches from now on) and I am very content to have been given the opportunity to represent Team FnaticMSI. I will practice hard to do well as much as possible. Thank you."
The last player we introduce to you should be a familiar for everyone who follows the GSL. Previously known as the Terran player August, he changed his race as well as his name to LinkProS, who is now playing Zerg. Under the alias August he made it to the Code A Round of 16 once. LinkProS is 21 years old. His replaypack can be found HERE.
Check out LinkProS' statement below:
"Hi, my name is Sam Kim, one of the new members to Fnatic Academy team. I am 21 years old and I live in Seoul. Due to personal reasons, I have decided to leave Team Startale a while ago and retire from my professional gaming career. However, I had some regrets to quit at this point and I was given a new opportunity by FnaticMSI. It is an honor to join such a high-profile team and I will do my best to re-qualify for GSL and finish as high as possible in any tournaments that I attend. Thank you.
P.S.: Due to health issues, I have been away from playing games for about month. So, the opponents I played in my replay pack aren’t top class players. I apologize for the inconvenience…T_T"
