Some of you might wonder; "What is different from the US or EU soloQ to Korean soloQ?" Well, you need not to worry anymore, as I'm here to write a detailed blog about it!
Korean SoloQ
At the first glance as you enter the queue you might think its the same **** as in EU or US. Last pick calls "Mid or afk", first pick instalocks eve and says he will troll some other muppet in the team for some stuff he did a couple of games ago or something like that, and when it comes the turn for the last guy to pick and the sudden realisation that infact, he isn't going mid, strikes him he ragelocks poppy with revive and clarity. The worst thing about all this you can't actually see anything they said since they said it in Korean letters, so all you see is: "[][][][][][][][][][][]", but what I wrote is what I think that happened. But as I played on, I actually came to the conclusion that at the lower elo (expecting I just didn't get lucky in my games) people are actually kinda good. They know their basic stuff, they sometimes even manage to dodge skillshots and such (not saying all people are bad at lower elo in EUW, but some lack the basic skills).
As I carried myself to higher elo I came across a weird phenomenon: "-90 elo". At first I thought it was just a joke since the first time I heard about it was when Shushei told me that he had it after I went to bed, thought it was his excuse for losing like 200 elo in a night for feeding like a boss, but to my surprise (and remorse) I got to experience it all by myself. All in together 3 times now. It happens when you get a really bad score. And it sucks. Like one game the game was something around 1-20 at 15 minutes, I just went to die to turrets and stuff (as the game obviously was over, my teammates were afking), and even though I didn't do bad at all that game and it was lost by our botlane I ended up getting -90. Well after that I learned to not suicide, however, I got to meet my old pal -90 again when I was playing Mundo and went 1-6-2 or something from 1-0-1 as we entered teamfights because our mid was like 0-7000000. The solution the Koreans have to this problem is to go AFK or instantly surrender when they start losing. Boring stuff.
Anyways, I came across another weird thing; Racism. I heard this is because the Korean players used to play at the US servers and got mistreated by the US players or something, another thing I heard was that there is an American base in here and the soldiers are like linked to crimes and stupid **** so the Koreans aren't very fond of these "yankees". And apperantly if you talk English you are a yankee. No matter what. The people usually flaming anyway don't speak any English so figured maybe I'd try to communicate with them in Finnish because if I speak English I'm a yankee. Didn't help.
All together, it actually is the same **** as in any other platform, expect maybe for the -90 thing. Some people are rude and racist, some people are nice and say stuff like "I'm sorry for this idiots behaviour". Some people spam "Fnatic sucks" and some people tell me they love me. Some people troll and suicide to turrets and some people play really good for their elo. The top ban heroes here are the same as in any other platform, the biggest difference I can think of is that some people play jungles with rushing zerker greaves, didn't see that much in EU but maybe its some new FOTM. Crazy stuff.
I hope you enjoyed my blog and thank you for reading it.
EDIT: Apperantly the entire -90 elo only occurs on the accounts us and CLG got from RIOT, since every other Korean player tells me that it never happened to them. That kinda sucks since spent half the blog ranting about it, but my point about Koreans surrendering way too easily and going AFK while losing still stands.
AFAIK in the English language if the beginning sound is a vowel its "an" and if its a consonant its "a". For example its "a university" because it starts with a "j" when you pronounce it (a juniversity?) same with yankee I guess (a jankee). Correct me if I'm wrong though as I'm not a native speaker.
I'm Korean, and I have some excuse for this problems.
As for 'Racism', Most Koreans don't think that word 'yankee' means such a bad thing. maybe they just used this word for meaning 'American' or etc. hmm, Most of us(including me) are not good at English enough to know it. sry for that.
-90elo is just a bug for both Fnatic and CLG's account. how pity you are... we aren't suffering for -90elo.
for the rest of this writing, lol. I laugh harder :) I hope that you had a nice time in Korea. Long live the Fnatic!

f*ck I couldn't use the enter key when I tried to edit this comment. how can I do that?
I just wanted to say, that Cyanide is completely right about the sound system in the English language. Cyanide is in fact very skilled at English imo. Which is ofc. great.
Also i like the blog! It is great knowing how it all works on other servers, and also it is good info, if one should for some reason join the Korean platform - as to how and when to act how. :)
LoL @ Peke and his gaaayyy btw... Didn't realize it was him before i looked twice. Rofl.
