After witnessing him wreaking havoc in a match against Team Baguette in The Defense and Virtus.pro in the EMS RaidCall League, all eyes have been fixated upon N0tail for his superb Meepo game play on a professional level. Meepo, also known as the Geomancer in the original iteration of Dota, has always been a high-risk high-reward and a micro-intensive pick and as such, has stayed out of the fray of competitive Dota for as long as memory goes. With this guide, his viability in the current meta-game is explained in detail.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we are thrilled to announce that the wait is finally over for all of you who've been praying with devout passion for N0tail to unveil the secrets to his famous 'Meepo'. The video guide walks us through almost every intricacy that the hero presents. Be it the skill build or the item progression, Mr.Meepo has it all covered for you. Most importantly, the hotkeys and the binds used by N0tail himself to achieve "perfect micro skills". Be warned though, since this perfection would only come with immense amount of practice, patience and the usual amount of "admiration" by fellow teammates, if you happen to boldly step into match-making right after watching this video the results may not be the same.
Key Points:
- Starting Items:
a] Tango x1 b] Salve x1 c] Ring of Protection x1 d] Stout Shield x1
N0tail - "It is very important to take a stout shield, especially when you lane mid as there is no shop there, so that the damage block and armor from the ring of protection would help to avoid damage taken."
N0tail - "Apart from providing the mana regenenration, the tranquil boots can be disassembled and you can turn the Sage's mask into a Ring of Basilius to push an open lane."
- Core Items:
a] Power Treads b] Aghanim's Scepter c] Blink Dagger
N0tail - "Once you have your Aghanim's Scepter, you will have so much more map presence all of your clones would receive the bonus stats from every item you make."
- Luxury Items:
a] Heart of Tarrasque b] Ethereal Blade c] Drums of Endurance d] Vladimir's Offering
N0tail - "A Heart of Tarrasque will give you massive tanking ability, also Ethereal blade can be extremely useful in certain situations."
- Lane of Choice:
If you are on the Radiant side, the mid-lane and the bottom lane are best suited for Meepo. If you are on the Dire side, the top lane should be your lane of choice.
- Vision:
Meepo has the advantage of having a vision of 1800 units during the day as well as night.

Hey if N0tail reads this, could I ask how you manage to see which Meepo you're using if you have all of them selected? I can't seem to net anyone because I can't tell which Meepo I have selected.
There's an outline on the meepo which is selected, you can also see it in the top left corner in the row of meepos :)
and eblade gives you 40 agi, 10 strength + a cool effect. but you can skadi instead of heart, I just dont prefer it.
How do you go on farming all over the map with your group hotkeys?
Everything is fine for me so far, especially the Poof > Blink combo (which I managed to learn quite quickly, just sometimes not poofing the 5th Meepo).
But whenever I want to spread all over the map, I'm having troubles using the second Meepo since on 2 I have the 2-5 Meepos and I have to select the second one manually. Do you have any particular setup for farming later in the game (when you have 4 or 5 Meepos)? Like first on sidelane, second on mid, 3 in jungle?
I usually farm in groups of 2, then I select group 2, a + click on a camp then select 4 and 5 fast and select another camp, or leave 4th to solo a camp and get in position with 5th and 1st,
In that way meepo 2 and 3 will farm togeather
notail, i have some questions, why you dont create a group for all meepos? in the blink dager trick, you do, select the group 2 ( 2 3 4 and 5 meepos) poof all and blink with meepo 1, but to earth bind, you select manually all meepos and alt tab??
other question, you rush foutain and i see you changing agro so easy, how you do??
thank you man, you're a legend xD
