Patrik was kind enough to share an insight at what's going on with the team right now, how did Moddii fit in and what he thinks of their TechLabs Cup performance. But that's not all. Quite unexpectedly, Patrik revealed that Intel Extreme Masters: World Championsip Finals will be his last tournament as a player in FnaticRaidCall. Even though his current focus is 100% dedication to upcoming competition, the decision has been made.
He goes on to reveal who will be the new in-game leader, how his teammates reacted to the news and when the retirement decision was made. We also made a look back at cArn's first days in Fnatic, how it all turned out, what are his fondest memories and so on. What started out as a simple pre-tournament interview took an unusual twist and revealed much more than that.
We've embeded the interview below:
Feel free to express your feelings about Patrik's in the comments, or on his Facebook page. We will be covering our Counter-Strike team's performance live from Hanover, which means you will get a lot of exclusive content next week in case you will follow us on Twitter and check Fnatic.com.
I attended more than 70 tournaments, 90% of them were international ones. While I was on it, I managed to take more than 150 000 photos, compose 150+ interviews, 200+ articles, 7 000+ news items.
I worked for all major e-sport portals in Russia and...
It's kinda sad for us - the community when best (with no doubt) captain decides to retire from gaming. Good luck and IEM, you just... MUST win it. And ofc good luck in your future!
WE LOVE YOU!
sad sad sad :'( Counter strike and Fnatic without cArn never be de same. cArn are the best igl in world, and now fnatic, i dont know how it will be ...
1st time you make a blog about "when the day comes" it makes me kinda have a feeling that you'll retire from CS soon & now you said "after win the dreamhack i think bla bla CS got to old bla bla" some ppl in hl*v says no hl*v = no cs & now no cArn = no cs(cannot disagree) will it be a sign that cs1.6 are near to the end? well about the retirement i guess it's a normal things when a good top player retire when he's on his top performso we'll wish you the best & good luck in ESL & real life, so many things i could learn from your "cArn theory of CS" now i have more confident to hold B site alone on dust2. when forest & getright left the team you keep going & lead the youngster into their best performance so dont forget this " Y O U A R E T H E B E S T I G L E V E R I N T H E W O R L D"
& yeah last question: can i keep to be u'r follower in facebook / twitter?
You are the one and only carn! we will never forget what you have done for the fnatic cs and you will always be in our heart! still looking forward to working with you for a longer time behind the scene!
Why ????? we need u m8

I started playing and started loving this game because of you guys.
Please dont do that ..... u were my insipirations and always remains in heart and gaming.

Best wishes for your fututre. bye m8
Respeact patrick, you've showed the whole scene giving up is not an option. You did what all else thought was not doable get fnatic back on top. While every1 just flamed you, you kept fighting and believing, we all knew u were gonna stop one day. I've always looked up to you.
You've been one of my gaming idols since I was much younger. Of course there were a few other teams and players, but your play style and your outgoing traits you show to other players, other people, and even your own team made you who you are. Even though I have never made it on the big stage yet, but have won LAN's, and Online Qualifiers - I do it for the enjoyment, not just to win.
A lot of respect to you, and to your choices. Hope to see you stay in Fnatic Management, and give your once and always team a lending hand.
So sad man .. i cannot say i didnt expect this . but still so sad :( I wish u GL in CeBIT, hope u go with style like every great players and people do .. Wish u GL in ur life man! UR THE BEST!!! <3 Fnatic! <3 cArn <3
