Copenhagen Games is taking place in the heart of the Danish capital with tournaments in several games such as StarCraft II, Counter Strike: Source and of course Counter Strike tournament, the latter features a total prize-pool of €20,000. Many international teams will fly out to Denmark as everyone wants to get their hands on the money, but no team can be sure about anything as the field of teams looks very strong.
Changes to the FnaticRaidCall team were made back in March when cArn announced his retirement right before IEM. Filling the huge gap was no other than Finn "karrigan" Andersen, former mousesports player and also one of the best AWP-players in the world. FnaticRaidCall is just one of out a handful of teams, all looking to get as a far as possible, but only one team will at the end of the tournament be able to raise their arms and the €9,400 cheque.

The event is filled with top teams from all around the world. From Brazil to Sweden. Some will surprise, some will impress and some will fall apart. Casper Ackermann, hereby presents you his thoughts on the upcoming Copenhagen Games Counter-Strike tournament.
Can you guys feel it? It's definitely coming. It's the time where people from all around the world fly out to the beautiful city of Copenhagen, located in the eastern part of Denmark. The reason why teams from all corners of world have booked tickets to Copenhagen is not because of the sunny weather or because of the inspiring culture. It's simply because of the biggest Danish gaming event, Copenhagen Games, is taking place from April 4th-8th. The event is, as previously written, Denmark's premier event when it comes to eSports, and with a total prize-pool worth more than €46.000, everyone - players, sponsors and audience, will keep their eyes peeled from the very beginning.

Day 3 - Friday
22:49: We had a little talk with Friis before he and the rest of the team played the first playoff-match. You can watch the interview right here. 22:26: Tomorrow, FnaticRaidCall will play the Poles from ESC Gaming at 10:00 am in the second playoff round. 22:18: FnaticRaidCall won their first playoff match versus NinjaNice. The first match was de_nuke (16-5) and the second map was de_tuscan (16-7). The playoff will continue tomorrow. 20:58: The playoff bracket has been revealed and FnaticRaidCall will face NinjaNice in the first round. You can see the whole bracket just above this. The first round will begin in just a few minutes. 19:11: The playoff bracket should be announced very soon. 18:35: FnaticRaidCall won de_nuke 16-11. Day 1 - Wednesday

The CS 1.6 tournament will start on Friday, but the groups will drawn tonight. We will update our coverage as soon as they go live.
Group stage write-up
Did you miss today's groupstage action? Lucky for you, Fnatic.com has written a small write-up about FnaticRaidCall's way to the playoff. FnaticRaidCall was placed in group H with the Danish side of TRiCKSTeRS and the Swedish side of IMBA (formerly known as BOOOM). All the other Counter Strike 1.6 groups featured four teams, but group h was the only one with only three teams in it, which meant that FnaticRaidCall only would face off versus two opponents in the group stage, the first one being TRiCKSTeRS at 10:00 AM.
The first map to be played was de_mirage. In the knife round, FnaticRaidCall's very own Andreas "MOODDII" Frid took down four of the opponent. From that point on, the match was very one sided and the final score told the exact same thing. 16-1 and it was time for de_tuscan.
FnaticRaidCall started out as CT and won the gun round, giving the team a good platform to work on. Despite the good start, nothing went as expected and TRiCKSTeRS took five rounds in a row, but FnaticRaidCall wouldn't let the Danes find a foothold. 16 rounds were picked up by the Swedish-Danish team of FnaticRaidCall, which meant that the map finished with a 16-5 scoreline and 2-0 overall.
Friis and the rest of the team went through the group without dropping a map
A total of six hours should fly by before the next and last group stage match would kick-off. FnaticRaidCall would go up against the midseeded Swedes from IMBA, or BOOM as their name was before the tournament. The two teams clashed together on de_train. FnaticRaidCall began the match CT, securing a total of 13 round to two in the first half. Michael "Friis" Jørgensen from FnaticRaidCall had an incredible CT-side. After the the two teams had switched sides, the Swedes from IMBA opened the half with a well executed tactic in the gun round. In the second round, FnaticRaidCall decided to buy a couple of AKs. At the end of the round, MOODDII was one-to-watch as he took home an 1vs2. The match finished with a 16-3 scoreline in favor of FnaticRaidCall.
The last map was de_nuke, and IMBA had to win this map in order to keep their hopes up. This was something FnaticRaidCall was trying to avoid. Our team began as T and after seven rounds, the scoreline was 6-1. The half finished with 8-7 in favor of IMBA, and it looked like the Swedes were back in the game. FnaticRaidCall lost the gun round as CT and came behind 9-7. From there on, FnaticRaidCall began to get back into the game and a small comeback was witnessed as FnaticRaidCall won the match 16-11.
With the victory over both TRiCKSTeRS and IMBA, FnaticRaidCall finished on top of group H thus securing them a spot in the playoff. The playoff will be announced any minute and you can follow all the action right here at the Fnatic website.
The playoffs here at Copenhagen Games are well underway and it's time for the semi-finals. The bracket has been full of surprises and the two semi-finals are not looking the way many people expected them to.
FnaticRaidCall vs. Alternate
Both teams have played very well at Copenhagen Games. The Germans from Team Alternate surprised everyone in the quater-final versus the Swedish side of Lemondogs. After two close maps, where rounds were traded back and forth, Alternate raised their arms as they managed to lock down the last map 16-11, winning with a total scoreline of 2-0. In the other quater-final, FnaticRaidCall went up against the winners of the latest edition of Intel Extreme Masters, ESC Gaming. The first map finished 16-10 for the Poles, while the last two maps finishied in favor of FnaticRaidCall meaning that the latter moved on to the semi-final.
The first semi-final will without a doubt be one-to-watch as both teams played very well in their respective quater-finals. Time will tell if Alternate can pull out another upset like they did versus Lemondogs or if the Germans will be driven over by xizt & co. from FnaticRaidCall.
We asked Navid "Kapio" Javadi from Team Alternate about the upcoming semi-final:
"Fnatic is the clear favorite. We have played them several times the last week and they are in my opinion the best aiming-team in this tournament. We have to play very well and use our teamplay and tactics if we should have a chance of winning the match."
SK-Gaming vs. Team WinFakt
In the second semi-final, the Swedes from SK-Gaming will go up against the Finnish dynamite team from Team WinFakt. The Finns are without their ingame leader, Lurpiss, but so far it hasn't affected their results. In the quater-final, they took down NaVi in a very convincing way and it will be very interesting to see if they can continue their run versus SK-Gaming. SK-Gaming faced Xapso in the quater-final and came out of the match with a 2-0 scoreline. SK-Gaming goes into the match with a lot of confidence but at the same time, they have to keep a steady eye on their nordic brothers from Team WinFakt as it can be hard to predict their movements as they are without their usual caller.
Robert "RobbaN" Dahlström from SK-Gaming said the following just before their match versus Team WinFakt:
"Ye, we are going up against the Finnish people from Team WinFakt. They are very good and they just beat NaVi. I think it's going to a quite awesome match!"

GOOD GAME guys, when i saw 2awps in team i wasn't so sure about you win, but when i see karrigan handle AK i was sure you take dust2, awesome team.

Im really impressed of Fnatic but especially Xizt because he was equal good at fragging as before taking igl role. Moddii was for sure the best player in the playoffs. Also i like that this team will probably grow over time because karrigan needs more time to get in his role, former 1st awper now hes only 2nd awper on the maps its "needed".
Black and orange will be the team of 2012 and hopefully 1.6 continues 2013 with new season of iem/cphg/gg/dhsummer/dhwinter etc.

That would be great. Usually most of fnatic fans turn in HLTV.org for the best coverage but now I think you guys have some unique offers which they don't have about fnatic such as video, pictures or onsite updated news about the team. Keep it up and good luck ^^
