GSTL Season 2 - FnaticRC over Prime
GSTL Season 2
14:30pm : FnaticRaidCall won!!! The final score is 5:4, and our guys have won against the defending champions of GSTL Season 1! aLive has sealed the deal with his impressive multitasking abilities, and the breaking point was the drop into the main base where he was able to destroy BBoongBBoong's Spawning Pool, which prevented the Zerg from making Zerglings. The attack which followed took down BBoongBBoong's third base. He wasn't able to recover and aLive led our team safely to victory. Be sure to check out our site for more updates regarding GSTL as we will provide you with more live coverage. Our team will play against the winner of EG-SlayerS and MVP encounter, which will be played on 22nd of June.
14:20pm : The final map is Whirlwind. Go aLIVE!
14:15pm : 4:4 is the score as aLive is keeping FnaticRaidCall alive! This best of nine match simply couldn't be more exciting, but only one team will come out on top. aLive went for six Barracks and early Marine pressure which allowed him to ulitmately bring third base of Creator down. That forced Creator to make a counter-attack which was easily shut down by aLive's Marauders. As Creator had a disadvantage in tech, as well as the army, he was forced to forfeit. The final map is yet to be announced, and the last player of Prime will be BBoongBBoong.
14:00pm : The game on Muspelheim between aLive and Creator is now LIVE!
13:50pm : Prime is once again in the lead with Creator taking PvP matchup against Oz. Going for Dark Templars without scouting was easily denied by Creator, as he went for fast expand and Robotics Facility. Creator built up his advantage by going for Colossi, and was constantly ahead in their count. The last man standing for FnaticRaidCall will be our Terran star aLive. We will surely have an epic Terran vs Protoss, after a five minute break, when the map will be announced as well.
13:35pm : Daybreak will be their battlefield, the game is now LIVE!
13:30pm : The score is now 3:3, as Creator defeated ByuL on Cloud Kingdom. Even though ByuL killed a lot of Probes early on, with a great Baneling bust, Creator took a defensive stance with a lot of blink Stalkers and Immortals. ByuL showed great multiple angle attacking, and even took down Creator's third, but it was just not enough. Creator was able to recover and deny every further attack by ByuL. Our next player will be Oz, and this will be the first Protoss vs Protoss today. The map will be announced soon.
13:15pm : The game on Cloud Kingdom between ByuL and Creator is now LIVE!
13:05pm : Creator has ended Moon's winning streak, and the score is 3:2 now. Our team chose ByuL as the next player, and the map will be announced soon. Even though Moon lost the game, he again showed his great macro skills. Creator went for four bases which allowed him to make enough Stalkers to go through Moon's defense. Spine Crawlers and Mutalisks with Banelings were just not enough, and as there were no more Infestors on the field, Creator stormed right through which forced Moon to call for a good game. Next game is just minutes away, and if ByuL wins, FnaticRaidCall will be just one win away from winning the match.
12:45pm : FnaticRaidCall leads 3:1!!! Third consecutive win by Moon! Moon outplayed MarineKing on Entombed Valley with beautiful Mutalisk-Baneling play. Banelings were spread all accross the map, burrowed beneath the ground, securing enough vision for Moon to see MarineKing moving out of his base. With a couple of huge detonation, he made really cost-efficient trades. Moon has won every major fight in the game, and also denied mining from his opponent's third for quite a while in early game. With this amazing win, FnaticRaidCall is only two games away from winning against team Prime, and Moon has achieved yet another GSTL victory over top tier players, and is going to face Creator now. The map will be Metropolis!
12:30pm : Moon vs Marineking on Entombed Valley is now LIVE!
12:20pm : FnaticRaidCall is in the lead for the first time in the match, as Moon took down Byun with a great timing attack with Zergling-Baneling-Infestor composition. Byun applied early pressure and killed 3 Queens, but Moon was able to recover and defend his third base. Again he had better economy then his opponent, and ulitmately won another game for our team. Moon's next opponent will be MarineKing, the MLG champion, and the GSTL multi-finalist, and probably the best player in team Prime. The map will be announced in few seconds.
12:03pm : Moon has continued with his impressive play in GSTL and took down AnNyeong which tied the score to 1:1. After going for 10-pool, he made a Spine Crawler in AnNyeong's base, and it wasn't scouted on time. After that, he moved it right next to AnNyeong's Hatchery, and by that he minimized the surface around it, which allowed him to have that Spine Crawler with Zerglings as support in opponent's base for quite a while. He didn't take down the Hatchery but he went so far in front with the Drone count and therefore economy. Moon was in constant lead which he capitalized with Roach Hydralisks composition. The next player for Prime will be Byun, and the map is Antiga Shipyard!
11:50am : The game two is now LIVE! Prime leads 1:0, and the map is ESV Ohana.
11:35am : Rain has lost the opening match against AnNyeong. Raind decided to go for pure bio composition with Medivacs, while AnNyeong went for Zergling-Baneling composition. Adding on few Infestors proved to be crucial, as without Siege-tanks, that was all that AnNyeong needed to beat Rain's bio army. The next game will be Moon vs AnNyeong, and map is yet to be announced.
11:20am : The match is LIVE and the first game will be Rain vs AnNeyong, Terran vs Zerg on Atlantis Spaceship. Go Rain!

GSTL Season 2
This is the second season of the Global Starcraft 2 League, the highest level of team competition in the world. This season is the first for FnaticRaidCall and the Starcraft 2 squad has responded to the challenge. Their record in Round 1 was enough to continue, and they are now in Round 2, Group A. Fielded against them will be the arrayed forces of Prime, SlayerS-EG, and MVP - and only two teams will advance into the play-offs. Facing players of that caliber will certainly test FnaticRC, but they've demonstrated that they belong in the conversation for top team. Still, this is definitely the harder of the two groups, and Round 2 opens on June 15th.
In Round 1, FnaticRaidCall was placed in Group B, along with IM-SK, oGs and TSL. oGs disbanded and were not replaced, so Fnatic and the other teams in Group B were given a walk-over victory. Fnatic went 2-1, which was enough to move on to Round 2.
The GSTL format is a Best-of-9 All Kill. That means the first team to achieve 5 victories takes the match, and the winning player from each match stays up until dethroned. This style can be very exciting, as players have the opportunity to go on unbelievable kill streaks. The tides of an entire match can turn on the strength of one player's performance. The format also allows the losing team to choose the new player, a chance to exploit a match up of play styles and races.
