The FnaticRC Counter Strike team has won the Swedish Championship after beating archrivals of SK-Gaming 2-1. After losing de_nuke 16:10, Richard "xizt" Landström and the rest of FnaticRC went on to win the following to maps de_dust2 and de_train. FnaticRC takes home a total of 70,000 SEK (~ $9,865). Back in April, FnaticRaidCall's Counter Strike 1.6 team was in Stockholm for the EsportSM LAN qualifier tournament in which they finished second after losing 2-1 to SK-Gaming in the grand final. Despite losing the grand final, FnaticRC had secured one of the two spots at the Swedish Championship which is set to take place at Dreamhack Summer 2012.
Today, the Swedish Championship's two groups will go live and FnaticRC has been placed in group B among the likes of Coldgame, a2g and sChEnArEy. Top two from each group will advance to the playoff where things are expected to heat up due to the tournament featuring an amazing 100.000 (≈€11300) SEK prize-pool.
