aLive's loss to Miya gives him a top 16 finish within the World Championship Series: South Korean Nationals. While that isn't as high as aLive hoped to finish, it was a good performance in an incredibly tough field. He now flies out to the US (Raleigh, North Carolina) for the MLG Summer Championships. 

Overview

The 2012 Starcraft 2 World Championship Series will boil down a true global champion, with dozens of tournaments being hosted around the world, with tiers of qualifiers for each level: National Qualifiers, National Championships, Continental Championships, and finally the World Championship. South Korea is undoubtably the premier Starcraft 2 nation, so the qualifier to their National Championships was extremely hard. FnaticRaidCall is happy to announce that aLive has qualified to the South Korean Nationals based on his GSL points! aLive's LB Round 3 match will be against the Zerg player Miya. 

10 GSL players were invited, based on the points they have earned from results in recent seasons, and aLive was one of those players. In addition to the invited players, the National Qualifier promoted 16 players to the South Korean Nationals. The qualifying tournament consisted of 16 brackets, with the winner of each bracket qualifying to represent their country at Nationals.

Each series was a Best-of-3 format, and every Korean KeSPA and non-KeSPA player that didn't qualify based on GSL points came out to fight. The preliminary qualifying matches were played on July 22nd and July 23rd.
