Harstem falls to Grubby in SEE Benelux Qualifier

UPDATE: After three maps Harstem drops out of the tournament after losing to Grubby 2-1 in the semi-final.

The Academy StarCraft II roster at FnaticRC expanded in the beginning of July with the signing of the only 17-year-old Kevin "Harstem" de Koning who had a spectacularly good run at Dreamhack Summer 2012 which saw him winning over the likes of ThorZaIN, Lalush and Naugrim. The Benelux qualifier for the Samsung European Encounter, a tournament which will take place at GamesCom and has a prize-pool of 2300€ of which 1000€ goes to the winner, takes place tonight and Harstem is representing the Fnatic-colours in a bracket which also features the likes of LiquidRet, Grubby and more.

17 players are competing in the single-elimination bracket, with every match-up being played in a best-of-three format. Just like the majority of the attending players, Harstem did receive a BYE in the first round.
