A lot has been happening regarding Fnatic over the past week. First of all the team attended the ESWC Masters of Paris and then the eSports Award nominees were announced, mintR was interviewed and Cypher was featured in eSports Weekly. The Counter-Strike 1.6 team were awarded second place in the ESWC Masters tournament whilst our Belarusian youngster Alexei "Cypher" Yanyshevsky displayed some magnificent performances in Quake III Arena where he didn't even drop a single map. In what has been a media heavy week for Fnatic, Elroy "Noname" Pinto and Sam "zr0" Matthews get interviewed by WCG Nordic who also provide some video footage of the Fnatic vs MiBR match, providing a feeling of the atmosphere at the ESWC Masters. Meanwhile, the eSports Award 2008 nominees for both "Player of the Year" and "Scene Journalist" were announced and we were delighted to find that Elroy "Noname" Pinto and Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg were present in their selected categories.
Elroy was also nominated last year for his submitted article of "The New King - Creolophus" but fell short in the voting polls where Michal "Carmac" Blicharz won the award alongside David "Craven" Abel with winning articles "It's not just a game" and "Rapper or Pro-Gamer?"
This year, Elroy submitted the article "ToD - The Romantic Human!", another one of his trademark interviews that spanned a total length of eleven pages that focused on a variety of subjects including his personal life, all things WarCraft III and what others players think of him.
f0rest on the other hand has again seen his name in the Player's category and since his award in 2006, is a constant favourite to win. Sadly, he hasn't won since then but that doesn't stop him being a threat to other nominees such as Moon or Neo from Meet Your Makers.
Now onto interviews. Martin "mintR" Röjder of the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was sat down earlier this week for an interview with Xtreme Gaming Xperience. Short but sweet, Martin answers questions on gaming in general and where his future lies.
And finally, after his extraordinary win at ESWC Masters in Quake III, Cypher has been featured in one of the last episodes of eSports Weekly. This episode displayed his match against Av3k and fox and he also shared his thoughts on winning another major title.
