August is a time of celebration for the eSports community, when Turtle-Entertainment honor those who strive to achieve excellence within their varied fields. The coveted eSports Award's will again be handed out this year to those nominated by the community and the "Academy", a panel of judges comprised of some of the most distinguished names within the gaming communities. Fnatic has received four nominations across four categories including a nomination for what is arguably the most desirable of awards, eSports Player of the Year. Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg was nominated for both eSports Player of the Year and Counter-Strike player of the year having lead his team to second place finishes at the KODE5 Global Finals, The ESWC Masters of Paris and a first place finish at the SEC 2008 event. Daniel "tidde" Asp managed to score himself a nomination in an original catagory this year, Best Call of Duty Player, while fnatic Warcraft manager and resident Jack of all trades Elroy "Noname" Pinto has been nominated for the Scene Journalist Award for his piece titled "ToD - The Romantic Human!". Fnatic has had good fortune concerning the awards in years past having been nominated countless times and having won eSports Player of the Year, eSports Team of the Year, Best Counter-Strike player of the year and Newcomer / Breakthrough of the Year at one time or another. With any luck we'll bring home a few more. The eSports Award show will be held at Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany August 23rd.
