Over a month ago saw the 2nd European Championship Gaming Series combine and draft. The Fnatic Counter-Strike:Source team played in the combine and finished a great 2nd behind Birmingham Salvo.
However as I'm sure your all already aware, the draft saw all five of our players being taken into the CGS in some capacity. Milan "xertion" Veeger and Quint "Blaze" Spierenburg were both drafted into Berlin Allianz to compete in the 2008 season with Luuk "darky" Verink and Sandor "proph" de Munck brought in as taxi players for the Berlin franchise. Mark "AirRaid" Koks was also taken as a taxi player for the Stockholm Magnetik.
It has taken a few weeks for us to come to this decision and through much discussion with the players, and since the team was split up by the CGS drafts we have decided to let the 3 remaining players go their seperate ways, and not try to reform the team. This decision is because of a number of factors, but mostly we feel that CSS cannot justify investment as game considering we will most likely lose any further team we build up again in the future to individual drafts of the CGS, and no major organisers have indicated they will pick up CSS in the face of the CGS.
It is with a VERY heavy heart that we wave goodbye to not only five amazing players, but five great friends.

| I have never been one to like goodbye's, and never more is it true now! These five guys have been the ultimate fnatic players, they have represented us with skill, focus, professionalsim, and were at one time indestructable as a team in CSS. They wore the orange and black shirts with pride, and most of all they were great guys to spend time with, good friends of mine. I will miss them at events, and in the office which we spent so much time, but I wish them ALL the best of luck.. Quint, Milan, go and conquer LA, Luuk, Sandor, Mark I hope to see you guys in successful teams soon and good luck in future! Thank you for being great people, players and friends in Fnatic! |

| We went to the CGS Combine, knowing that some of us had a good chance of getting drafted. We had a highly skilled squad with alot of ingame and social skills. But we wanted to go anyway, because the CGS is just the biggest tournament that is around for CS:Source at the moment. We're (Mark, Sandor and myself) really happy for Quint and Milan that they got drafted and will be starting one of the greatest things in their eSports careers. With that said, we're also disappointed and sad that this means that Fnatic.css will be no more. The team won't be the same without these two great players and personalities and therefor we decided not to continue under the Fnatic flag. I had alot of fun in Fnatic.css and I want to thank Fnatic for that, but especially the guys for the awesome time that we played together and all the great achievements we accomplished. Thanks to all the fans and all the friends for the great support and goodbye. |

Had the pleasure of seeing the fnatic.css team in the greenroom at i31. Back then i didnt really know who they were but they sure looked pro in their tshirts :P Sad that the first time i saw them was also my last

Players that can be used by thier respective teams at short notice to replace a player in the starting 5 lineup.
E.g. when one of them is playing like crap, or cannot play for some reason, they can be replaced by one of the teams taxi players and compete.

I'm going to miss you guys... ALOT. You deserve to be playing in the Championship Stealing Series but their system of being able to dismantle any team they like is just utter tripe and you should have been drafted as a unit, not individually. Hope we can still chat!

as a rps guy i dont know that much about combine etc... but what i know is that it sucks ass if it makes a team like this split!
