FnaticMSI Counter-Strike 1.6 player Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund has been named Regional eSports Player of the Year for Northern Europe!
As well as this, Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg has been awarded runner-up in this particular award which means three of our Counter-Strike 1.6 team have been featured in this years awards.
This is quite an achievement for Chris as he only just joined the team at the beginning of the year and no-one expected him to perform as he has done over the past few months.
Along with new team mate and fellow nominee, Rasmus "Gux" Ståhl, FnaticMSI have won every tournament so far this year excluding the EM III Continental Finals Europe and the EPS Sca Season I Finals, meaning a total earning of $105,622 for team in 2009 to date.
Wow... this is a big surprise. This wasn't really like I thought we were going to win ESWC Korea and KODE5. I could really feel that but this is a really big thing and I'm glad to represent Northern Europe in this award. Now I'm only hoping for the best, thanks everyone!- Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund, Regional eSports Player of the Year Northern Europe
GeT_RiGhT now joins 5 other players from across the globe that include Roman "roman" Ausserdorfer (Western Europe), Filip "Neo" Kubski (Eastern Europe), Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert (America), Jang "Moon" JaeHo (Korea) and Xiaofeng "Sky" Li (China) in contention for the prestigous award, with the winner to be announced at the eSports Award Ceremony in August.
We would like to congratulate Christopher for achieving the highest of highs under the FnaticMSI flag and look forward to seeing him dominate even more in many years to come.
