Shy Featured on Sgamer.com

by Noname on October 5th, 2008 at 13:00 CEST

A little over 10 days ago, two of our Warcraft 3 stars - Shy and Minhyuk relocated to China and today the team captain of the Warcraft 3 team - Shy has been interviewed by Sgamer.com, a famous Warcraft 3 website from China.

The interview deals with several aspects of their stay and goes in depth about their stay and their interactions with Chinese fans! While neither of them has been mobbed until now that might soon change as the Night Elf star works hard to regain his mid 2008 form. If you want to get a small glimpse of the otherwise reticent Shy you must read the interview!

Q: Hi Shy, I am from war3.SGamer.com, could I have an interview with you?
Sure

Q: Could you briefly introduce yourself please.
Hello all my name is Chul Woo “Shy” Park, I’m, a Night Elf Player for fnatic and I am currently living in Hefei china!

Q: How many times have you been China before? And which cities? Have you still got any impression about these cities?
I have visited Shanghai/Dalian/Wuhan/He fei. I have visited China as a tourist with MinHyuk and Drum (WC3 Korea Manager) and I have competed in tournaments too. I think these cities are really good, Dalian was the best, it’s such a beautiful city!

Q: How's the life in He Fei? Is there any difference from the life in Korea?
It’s a really different...life......hard for me to explain but everything is different, except from the fact that I play the same game in Korea and China : ). The food, home, meeting friends everything is different here…

Q: Well, could you please briefly describe your typical daily life in China?
Our schedule is mainly to play the HannsG Cup and practice. Our rising time is anywhere between 2pm~4pm we play for around 2 ~ 8 hours a day depending on our mood.

Q: Originally, what is the reason for living in China?
Firstly I would like to thank SteelSeries, CM Storm, BestPoker and UGAME.net for helping us come here to China. Our main purpose is to attend a new tournament which goes by the name of HannsG Cup and we wanted to practice with the great human players from China and so we are doing that now. We also played some games in WC3L vs Attax, wNv and now we’re going back soon to compete in the last two playdays!

Q: Which Chinese players do you usually play with during your training session?
Many good players are in China and we practice regularly with th000, hovermoon, Sky, Fly, LiKe etc~

Q: Have you ever played with these amateur or semi-professional players in China? If yes, what do you think of them?
Yeah, in my previous answer I mentioned the big names but I also play with amateur gamers they are all good. The level of competition is high.

Q: In the forum of our website, many people post and say that they have met you in netcafe, is that true? Have you experienced being recognized during training session in the netcafe? And, is there anything interesting that you can share with us?
Hehe, it’s true, I had a few fans come to me and talk to me but nothing in particular comes to mind, they just asked me to pose with them for a picture or something, nothing special!

Q: Do you think that training in China will greatly improve yourself?
Yes, I think I have practiced my weak match ups and I have practiced my strong match ups too, so I think it has helped me become a better player.

Q: Could you tell me your recent match schedule please?
We played WC3L & there's the HannsG Cup Qualifier for which we have games every alternate days.

Q: You have done well in WC3L. However, you will meet MYM and mTw in the final two rounds, what do you think about your team's final achievement in WC3L?
Our goal is always to finish 1st, it’s not always possible but we must always try for the best spot and give our best in games.

Q: Do you think whether you will meet some networking problems when participating some online matches during your time in China?
Yeah, it’s just a problem to play on a US host, but otherwise to play against Korean gamers it’s not hard at all.

Q: Ok, thank you very much for the interview, and finally, could you leave a message to your fans please?
Thank you for interviewing me and i would like to say to fans, ni hao to all !
