i37: fnaticMSI.CoD4 to the Grand finals

After storming through their half of the bracket, fnaticMSI.CoD4 had to face British side Team CoolerMaster. Although fnaticMSI recently dethroned TCM as the Number one team in Call of Duty (according to the cadred.org rankings), it would not be an easy game on one of our teams weakest maps, Crash. In somewhat of a repeat of TeX, fnaticMSI.CoD4 had to play Team CoolerMaster in the upper bracket finals, except this time the battleground was to be on crash. By their own admittance, fnatic are bad at crash (to put it politely) so this was always going to be a tough match.

Even in the knife round TCM showed that they are a team of quality individuals. Having lost 4 members to fnatic's 1, Vasquez was left in a 4on1 and the British captain picked off the Swede's one by one. TCM then decided to stay defense, but scorned by the embarrassing knife clutch, fnatic went flying off into the lead going 3-0 up without reply and without any meaningful opposition. A timeout was called as Germaine had problems with his computer and the pause also helped TCM as fnatic lost all momentum, although momentarily. After slipping and letting TCM drag it back to 3-2, our Swede's again pulled ahead going up 7-2 with great team play proving the deciding factor.

With the match starting to slip away from them, TCM again picked up their game, with it finishing 7-5 at half time. A good score, but a lot closer than it couldve been nonetheless.

Now attacking, TCM started off brightly, taking the first round but that was all they would get out of the half as afterwards fnatic pulled away, this time to finish the game. The new tactics and grenades the side had setup yesterday worked wonders for the team on one of their weaker maps as they won 13-6, finishing the game with a sublime 2man defense of B from Odyx. Overall every player had their great moments, but rivve in particular had some very impressive shots but the greatest attribute from the side in this match was their outstanding team play.
