The final stop of the Major League Gaming 2009 circuit will be upon us very soon, but it is in 2010 and it is in Orlando, Florida. The event itself will be held over the course of January 8th-10th and holds great significance because it is the National Championships.

In this tournament most of the eyes will be on Triggers Down & Str8 Rippin. Triggers Down will want to finish first for the third time in a row, sealing their place as the 2009 National Champions, but Str8 Rippin are known to step it up when the event really matters.

The other notable point during this event is that three European teams will be looking to represent at Orlando. They are Power Gaming who finished nineteenth in Anaheim, LowLandLions who are one of the long standing teams in Europe, and finally, our very own FnaticMSI, who have been bootcamping with LowLandLions for the past two days in preparation.

Because this is the National Championships, the seeds for the Pro Bracket are a little different, meaning that out of the open teams that progress, only two of them can make the top eight. It also means that some teams start in the Winners Bracket Semi-Final.

The Prize distribution is as follows:

  • 1st - $100,000
  • 2nd - $60,000
  • 3rd - $40,000
  • 4th - $28,000
  • 5th - $20,000
  • 6th - $14,000
  • 7th - $10,000
  • 8th - $8,000

MLG will be providing a Live Stream of the event from Friday night kickoff to Championship Sunday, keep your eyes on Fnatic.com as we cover our team's progression through the open bracket. You can also stay updated by following the Fnatic Twitter or MVP's Twitter.
