Today we celebrate the return of Kevin "RotterdaM" van der Kooi back into the FnaticMSI family. We are happy to have him back in our ranks as he was missed for a long time.
Kevin is back donning the black and orange colors after departing almost two years back from our organization as a Warcraft III player. Having someone like RotterdaM in our ranks is encouraging especially as he will start a new project that will be announced in the upcoming days.
FnaticMSI General Manager Elroy "Noname" Pinto commented about Kevin's return:
"Today marks the return of Kevin "RotterdaM" van der Kooi back into Fnatic and I'll try to keep this statement interesting since most statements about new players are disinteresting. Kevin has joined us but we will have a surprise in about a week. Kevin is the start of our new project and perhaps we might explore an old game with him or a new one. On a side related note - Kevin is one of the best people to have in eSports and it pained me to let go of him nearly two years back, this time he will stay for good."
During the time of his absence, Kevin has been focused on his Warcraft III career, with IESF in January being his most recent tournament, as well as commentating, doing many commentaries for ESL TV and casting the World Cyber Games 2009 Finals in Chengdu.
The Dutchman is happy to be back with the organization that introduced him to e-Sports:
"A little over two years ago I was forced to leave FnaticMSI if I wanted to continue my WC3 career. After the Russians and Satiini decided to continue their careers at another organisations, FnaticMSI had no choice than to close the team, since once again starting a new squad was just a bit too much after the many roster changes.
From that moment on I played for Serious Gaming and I had a great time being in the Warcraft team together with Sonkie & Dowaq , but after two years of playing WC3 for Serious Gaming I was ready for a new challenge. This challenge I've found and we'll be announcing more about this in the near feature, for now I can only be very happy to be back at the organisation welcomed me to E-sports five years ago and are now doing the same once again, but in a different way. It feels so good to be back and I want to thank the FnaticMSI management as well as the sponsors, MSI, SteelSeries, Bigfoot Networks, UGAME and SLAPPA!"
