Brian 'dkt' Flander announces his retirement from professional gaming.

Brian 'dkt' Flander announced the news two days ago via a blog post on the complexity gaming website. He stated that his reason for retiring from the professional Quake scene was to 'pursue a career outside of eSports' but he has promised to go out in a blaze of glory and to be 'kickass' at the upcoming Quakecon in August.

Heres what he had to say on his blog:

Over the last year I've been hesitant to [move on], hoping and waiting for something else to come up in gaming... I'm not waving the white flag by any means, but I am a realist and it's time to 'grow up' as your average non-gaming adult will say" He doesn't deny that he may carry on in a more casual basis but admits that he will never consider himself 'pro'.

Brian has been an ever-present figure in the Quake scene for an abundance of years now, although recently he hasn't reached the heights of his World Cyber Games victory in 2000, he has been attending events regularly. The most recent of which is the IEM World Finals where he performed well below his best.

We wish Brian 'dkt' Flander the best of luck in his endeavours outside of gaming.
