4Kings: Double changes
4Kings have confirmed the removal of Counter-Strike 1.6
duo Joona "natu" Leppänen and Tomi "toomi" Lundahn.

The organisation announced the addition of a seperate Finnish Counter-Strike 1.6 team on Tuesday July, 29th 2008 in order to maximise its superiority in the international scene.

Formerly known as Excello, with the addition of Tomi "toomi" Lundahn, the team made its debut at the WCG Finland Qualifier, finishing third after beating Elukkaveljekset two games to one.

However, it appears that this result was a catalyst for changes of the roster which sees two senior players including Leppänen, who played for 4Kings in the past, removed.

Non-compatible
line

"After consideration, the team decided Natu was not compatible with the current team makeup and it was time to move on and following that toomi decided the time had come and that he just has too little time to continue to compete in Counter-Strike at this level," read a statement.

4Kings have now turned to two little-known players in the form of Otto "danzer" Dimitrow and Jirka "JiGetus" Ryhti, despite wanting to impress on the international stage.

Dimitrow and Ryhti both previously played for Elukkaveljekset and most recently at the WCG Finland Qualifier, in which they saw themselves earn 4th place after losing to 4Kings.

Enthusiasm

Ian "JavaX" Leckey, 4Kings General Manager, has stated that the duo have the determination and eagerness to continue to be a dominant force in the Counter-Strike 1.6 scene.

"The additions of danzer and jigetus will help fuel the motivation ten-fold," Leckey said.

"They have the drive and enthusiasm that seasoned pro players sometimes lack, and of course the skill to help establish themselves and the team itself as a reckoning force within Finnish and European Counter-Strike," he concluded.

4Kings now have the following roster:

  • flag Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen
  • flag Matti "SPIKEONE" Jarvinen
  • flag Janne "Kuppi" Kuparinen
  • flag Otto "danzer" Dimitrow
  • flag Jirka "JiGetus" Ryhti
