EULCS Spring: Week 1 Preview

Tonight, the EU LCS Summer Split kicks off with Fnatic returning to the rift!

Last we checked in with our League of Legends squad, they were hard at work during their boot camp in Korea. After ramping up their play in the Spring Playoffs, the international experience the team has gathered during these 2 weeks will be extremely valuable in continuing their road to redemption.

First up this week is Misfits, whose lineup remains mostly unchanged from the Spring Split except for the addition of ex-ROCCAT player Maxlore, who’ll be taking over Kakao’s jungle spot.

Our first face-off in Spring started with an 0-2 series while the second time we secured a 2-1 ending. The last time we met, was in the Spring Playoffs where we played to our full potential and took the convincing 3-0 win. Judging by these results and keeping in mind the bootcamp and a new player on Misfits’ side, the odds seem to be in our favor.

You can catch us live tonight ~8pm CET.

Week 1 brings us twice the usual fun as we’ll also go up against Ninjas in Pyjamas on Saturday, ~8PM CET. The organisation is back in the LCS and picked up the slot that previously belonged to our Academy team. As they decided to recruit their own roster, this matchup is hard to analyze but it is expected to be in favor of our boys in black and orange. The new NiP roster consist of former SKT Top Laner Profit, LCS veteran Shook, as well as Nagne, HeaQ, and sprattel.

It’s likely that NiP have had far from enough time to prepare as a team since the acquisition and we will most likely see some inconsistencies coming from them in this first week. We’re more than ready to take advantage of these, having had plenty of time to work as a unit in Korea, including our new coach, Dylan Falco.

Dylan will however not be taking the stage in Week 1 as his visa is still in process of being sorted, meaning that Finlay ‘Quaye’ Stewart will take to the stage one final time before resuming his duties as LoL Team Director.

We’ll see you guys on the Rift!
