Feels amazing to say, doesn’t it?
A new era. A record third IEM World Championship. Winners again.
It was a two year wait. But, on the Spodek stage again, the Fnatic CS:GO team saw their names etched into silverware once again.
IEM Katowice 2018 proved a mammoth performance. In the grand final, against FaZe Clan, we clawed our way back after a first map drubbing to take the trophy after a full five map Counter-Strike marathon.
After 7 hours on stage, 149 rounds played and 991 kills traded, six men - Golden, JW, Krimz, Flusha, Lekr0 and Jumpy - walked to stage centre and lifted what became rightfully theirs.
In 2009, Patrik ‘cArn’ Sättermon’s CS 1.6 side won the IEM Season III World Championship as favourites. Two years ago, Jesper ‘JW’ Wecksell, Freddy ‘Krimz’ Johansson, Robin ‘Flusha’ Rönnquist et al were more than used to winning before the IEM Season X World Championship.
But, we entered 2018 wanting to start a new chapter. Now, the writing is set in stone. Fnatic CS:GO has returned to where we belong.
