VALORANT Roster Update

VALORANT Roster Update

Published: 08 Apr 2021

Since entering VALORANT with the SUMN FC roster that showed such promise in the first few events, our results have unfortunately not lived up to our expectations. Several poor performances, elimination from Masters 1 at the qualification stage, and missing out on a direct route to Masters 2 meant that the decision was made between the Team Director, coach and team captain to make significant changes to push for our final chance to reach Masters 2 in Reykjavik.

Since that decision was made, we have allowed Kostas "tsack" Theodoropoulos and Muhammad “Moe40” Hariff to explore other opportunities within VALORANT. We’re sure they’ll find new competitive rosters very quickly, and everyone at Fnatic wishes them all the best for the future.

The process of replacing Moe40 and tsack started by trialling players from across Europe and beyond, to ensure that we were picking the right players for our new-look roster in terms of both talent and personality. We’re pleased to announce today we have found two exciting talents to compliment the core of our roster.

Introducing our two new VALORANT recruits:

Nikita "Derke" Sirmitev

This 18-year-old Finnish ex-CS:GO player joined us having impressed throughout his trial. He has recently played with Finnish CS:GO team Kova Esports, and CIS VALORANT roster CrowCrowd. His Jett and Sova play brings a new dimension of cultch potential and pop-off plays to our roster, and we’re looking forward to helping Derke realise his full potential in the Black and Orange.

Martin "Magnum" Penkov

Magnum has proven himself to be one of the top sentinel players over the past few months, with Killjoy and Cypher talents up there with the best in Europe. His adaptable and smart style, along with his top-frag potential and strong personality will make him a fan favourite in no time at all.

Our vision for Fnatic VALORANT remains the same now as it will be in the future: to challenge at the very top, and compete for the biggest titles that the game has to offer. We know Derke and Magnum have the talent to help us achieve this mission.

Both Derke and Magnum will play for Fnatic in official matches for the first time on Saturday, April 10th in the second stage of the Open Qualifiers for Challengers 2.

Please give Nikita and Martin a massive welcome to Fnatic on their social media pages. We hope we can count on your support in our qualifiers this weekend!
